The name is Anthony. I'm 23 years old. I play games. A lot of them. I listen to a lot of music too. I've got Last.FM, Xfire, Skype, AIM, MSN, Yahoo. I'm a junkie for silly programs. And for silly social-networking sites.
I'm just gonna take a page from this things info box, and gonna answer the questions it has for me.
How'd I get into gaming? I was 4, and watched my sister play Link to the Past. Then it started. NES and SNES were my drugs of choice. I didn't have a Genesis for the longest time. Which was sad, because Sonic was cool as hell.
What are my favorites? Oh god.. Rhythm gaming. Started with Dance Dance Revolution US Mix at Cedar Point when it was JUST being introduced. I love Rhythm Games. It mixes gaming, and music. Why not fall in love with it?
Right now, what am I playing? For the Wii: Monster Hunter TRI, Xbox 360: Record of Agarest War, Rock Band 2, Super Street Fighter 4, Warriors Orochi 2. PS3: Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2, M.A.G, Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom (only 3 games I own <.< )
Rock Band in particular. But tonight? My love has become unending. KEYBOARDS ARE GO. 25-key Keyboards. The interface is beautiful. The new graphics for RB3 are beautiful. THE FACT IT ALSO WILL HAVE BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY AND I DON'T HAVE TO BECOME A HERETIC TO PLAY IT (GH6)... Thank you Harmonix. You are listening to the fans.
Now, please. PLEASE: Some good Symphonic Metal. I'll just name two bands I like.
~Sonata Arctica. I want Full Moon. That song... the dueling Keyboard/Guitar solo? SOLD.
~Nightwish. This is a horrible longshot. With the new band lineup; it's very unlikely. But once again I can pray.
Since i'm writing a wishlist; fuck it! MORE WISHING! More Children of Bodom would make this metal-head so happy. Because let's face it. The epic battles Alexi has on tour with Janne during the intermissions? They're AMAZING. But Janne can play the fuck out of the keyboard. I point you to old CoB (Especially with the addition of these 'Pro' modes, I can only imagine...) :
I could probably go on for days about bands I would love to see in the Rock Band universe (Without them being done on RBN; because yes, RBN has opened up doors, but fan charting is no where near the level of Harmonix; aside from maybe 2 studios).
I promise this won't be like my LJ. I won't get emo in here. I'll keep it nerdy ;)
So, just turned on Rock Band 2 for the first time in a while and decided to pick up the guiiiiii-tar. Proceeded to beat my score on Mordecai. Only by 2k; but Mordecai is hard and if you don't believe me, youtube it. That opening is the only reason I can't FC it. Screwy prog-timing.
Rob (vApathyv to you cool kids here on Dtoid) is my Bandmate... yes, I have a Fake Plastic Instrument/Simulation Band. We're called A Severe Fatality (Look us up on Facebook/Twitter!) We have a pretty Rad Bromance. His term, not mine. So I'm sure he'll attest that improving 2k on Mordecai is an accomplishment.
Speaking of silly hard songs on Strings, 'According to You' by Orianthi is insane! That girl can shred.. If you don't believe me, once again I'll direct you to Youtube or your nearest top 40 radio station. You should hear it... between Gaga and Mini-gaga (Ke$ha). What do you guys think? Was the Solo overcharted or did Harmonix do it right? I've never once said or even thought Harmonix overcharted anything, but without knowing how to play the song on a real guitar, I can't even fathom the process of charting that solo. It sounds accurate, just by audio..
But yeah, So if you are reading this, thanks! I'm pretty sure my blog stuff is going to mostly pertain to music gaming; but there may be a time or two where I rant about whatever i'm playing otherwise (Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 here's looking at you...).
I'm pretty friendly and I love to chat so if you've got something you wanna hit me up about, or whatever; go for it!
(My next post; i'll get fancy and put photos and videos, I promise ;) )
