Crysis Warhead. First Screens inside
Rage Quit | 3:21 AM on 06.26.2008 7 comments

The annoucement not long after the initial release of Crysis - Crysis: Warhead, a new entry into the franchise featuring our lovely bald englishman holding a striking resemblance to the great Jason Statham, was announced for the PC - the game finally has some screenshots to show just how optimistic it is on being more "computer friendly"'
IGN reports that on a $652 PC built computer, the performance was supposedly astonishingly smooth and fluid even with a high level of graphical detail, directly form the words of Jason Ocampo (gamespot cry :[ )

I Have an epic computer, but Crysis still chugs on ultra high settings.
For a game that is running smooth and fluid the game is actually looking quite astonishing. The lighting is still superb, the textures are sharp and the explosions are looking explosiony... I'm actually considering this once "Cryisis clone" as a game in it's own right; after all... Psycho > Nomad in all respects. What do you think... epic or fail?

ya know Crysis really does have the best graphics I've ever seen

I see they set the Time of Day settings to orange.

In all seriousness though, CE2 is my favorite looking engine. I can run Crysis on HIGH (not VERY high) and get a solid 30FPS and Ive only got an 8800GT, 2GB DDR2 and a Core2Duo. Not exactly the most expensive machine, and the game looks phenomenal.

I'll probably end up buying this, Psycho was what saved the game for me. Gotta love a cockney.

My 900 dollar epic computer can run Crysis on max, so its not like you have to have a supercomputer to run it all crazy like.

I'll totally pick up the "expansion". I loved Crysis, it was the first FPS in a while to really make me want to sit down and play just to see what happens next.

I can run crysis, but I didnt liked the game that much.
Explosions allways look good, everything looked good on that game.

A $900 computer that can run crysis on max? :O That's really impressive.

What resolution are you running it at?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Solid Eye Detects Rage Level to be OVER 9000?!?!?!

Hey Cbloggers, Bounti, Zoidberg and Colossus giving everyone a warm hug and wishing (crosses fingers) for a warm welcome back. A couple of room mates with nothing better to do, we've decided to join a community blog cause frankly - we love forums.

Gamers by night and Students by day, we all own different consoles and have different tastes in games, but we all share the same trait: We rage too much
You'll see each of us posting up different comments and eventually we'll start to blog but for now we'll tread lightly. It's thin ice out there in Destructoid Land.
