I just got done with a VS. match and would like to regale you with the outstanding way in which my teammates showed some cheaters "what the fuck was up". It started off as a normal Vs. match. Professor Pew was my teammate along with 2 good randoms. Of course, we were handing the opposite team their ass in No Mercy for the first stage, then in some mechination that I have never seen, the other team jumped ahead of us. They moved from knocking down the corrigated door, to instantly beeing in the sewer. We still beat their asses and proceeded to win the round with all four surviving and killing all of them. (We used the door break trick because they just had). Then, as we entered the round where all the walls are being framed in, we found that the elevator was blocked. The Proffesor had already predicted this and brought along a propane tank to deal with this obstacle. Then we proceeded with the round only to find that each choke point was blocked with another piece of machinary. I died, but my valiant teammates survived and we won another round. I told my teammates that we should not pull that bullshit and beat them fair and square. As we started the next round, a vote was called. It was to return to the lobby. The vote did not pass in a vote of 4 to 4. Needless to say we ended up winning the match and talking mad shit to the opposing team about how they were cheating bitches and we won fair and square. It was epic.
sorry about no pics and the tldr aspect, but I just wanted to let my D-toid bretheren to know about our victory over the forces of evil.
That game was one of the best games I've ever played with/against randoms. One of them was a friend of Never On btw, so I guess he didn't count as a full random.
I always melee through the door myself as well, but I forgot to tell you this: this one random dude meleed the door at 3x the speed of normal melee. I tried if it was just because he hit LT really fast but he must've had some lame controller with a turbo button or some hack/exploit or something. He still died of course, but in retrospect maybe that explained why we ALWAYS got meleed out of the air?
Fun times! Death to ANIYALATER01, Gweedo9 and I STONG YOU WEAK, hahahahah :)
@ LIGHTTHROWER,
For a moment I thought of never commenting again just to keep my leet status, then I realized that it was ghey to even think that. (not that you are, I would have never noticed if you hadn't)
@ NUKKA,
Yeah, you should have stayed. It was pretty nice.
@Profpew:
Not sure about the 360 version, but in the PC version one of the exploits that got fixed (along with some more of the more common of the plenty of bugs/exploits) is a speed melee exploit. I'd imagine that's also present on the 360 version as well, and wouldn't have been fixed yet (like blocking paths with machinery as infected).
I consider the door breaking to be a pretty bad exploit, so if someone on my team tries it I help them out by giving them a molotov to keep them company. But moving the machinery pisses me off the most. Before I found out you could counter it I just used to stay alive as long as I coul bear it, then commit suicide to show I was better than the other team.
I do the same thing. If they try to lock you up, you've gotta just camp out in a corner and spam the mellees until they either widdle down your health unbearably slowly, or they just leave the game out of disappointment.
But you used the break the door "trick". Technically, isn't a trick a cheat? ;)
Well congrats. I'm glad I enjoy the campaign on Expert a million times over the versus mode. I wouldn't want cheaters to ruin my L4D experience. "Pills over here!"

PROTIP:If you alternate LT and Y, you spam melee ultra fast.
And they all got negative reviews, teehee.

I love it when they leave out of disappointment.
