Hi, I'm Rab. I like games.
Ever since I could remember, I've always wanted to have a career that somehow allowed me continue to be involved with them. For that reason and pretty much that reason alone, I'm going to college and learning about the different components and things that go into the videogame industry. I like to analyze videogames and see what makes them tick. If a game sucks, I want to understand exactly what makes it suck so hard. To this day I'm still not sure exactly how I want things to pan out, and I don't exactly know what it is I want to do within the game industry, but I know it's going to kick ass.
I like the consider myself a pretty well rounded person when it comes to taste in videogames. As long as the game has well thought out mechanics and fun gameplay, I'll atleast give it a shot.

Microsoft's Kudo Tsunado went on Jimmy Fallons show last night and gave a brief demo of the upcoming hardware..software..whatever the fuck you call this motion sensor crap.
Totally not crap, actually. It seemed really fucking responsive and was able to recognize the differences in the 4 people swapping back and forth after only a couple seconds. Really slick, man.
Fallon seemed genuinely excited and understandably so. This shit looks cool as hell.
It did glitch out a bit, but those instances were negligable because they were during the times when they would switch players on the fly.
What do you guys think?
Ah, Spaghettios...at first glance, I thought it was some sort of futuristic hybrid of Cheerios and Lucky Charms. I see what looks to be the leftover milk at the bottom of the bowl, and Spaghettios would leave an orange sauce-like substance all over everything.
at first I was a little "meh" towards both Natal and PS3 motion control, but I have to say... the Wii does have serious competition if both Microsoft and Sony develop, distribute, and market their respective systems correctly.
Aside from being an old schooler, I really appreciate controller buttons. Years of playing cell phone games on cell phone hardware have affirmed that nothing's better than real, dedicated game controllers.
That said, if this can short cut some things that were inherently better/more fun without a controller (gun aiming, menu management and RTS management) it could make some positive waves.
Wii Motion Plus is here now though, and its SO the real deal...
They showed this on Good Morning America yesterday, too. The camera delayed a bit and it completely died at one point, forcing the player to jump up and down like an idiot to get it to respond again.
I've always liked the PS3 motion controller better, but that show didn't help me switch sides any. :P
Motion controls are overrated, and will never be good for any subtle kinds of motion, or movements. The Wii remote (especially played sideways) is the last, best, controller available today. To me, the Wii classic controller would be the best, minus the short cord.
I like having a controller. I think Natal is a technology that is mostly impractical for the real world. It's great for a brightly lit studio, but I just dont think that it will make for good games. I did like Sony's better, the physical controller is a huge deal, and the tracking looked better (again I will restate that the RTS part of the demo blew me away). Natal will be great for the casual crowd, as will the PS3 controller and as the Wii is right now. But this tech realistically should not be considered for us, the core crowd.
WOW this actually responds really smoothly. Pretty impressive seeing it in action. Looks fun, but how long can this be fun before you realize you look like a fool playing it? HAhAHaH j/k
By the way, those look more like Apple Jacks than Cheerios.
This Natal thing is just a bunch of mini-games crap. Sorry, but there is no way anyone can really play freaking Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed with this camera junk.
Wow, you love the f-word, huh? Does it make you sound more mature? Don't think so. And I can post what I would like in the comments. Especially since you have a tendency to cuss me out in mine for no reason. I think you're just upset that someone disagrees with you.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I love how you know not to question the fact that the King plays 360 and not pstriple :D

SOUNDS DELICIOUS.
