calm down
I believe you're forgetting September 22, 1987 - the broadcast premiere of Full House.
@MrSadistic
I thought you left dtoid in a fit of drama over the events of a few weeks ago.
I left because a) I had explosive diarrhea for a few weeks and b) I came back and saw the raping of the c-blogs and it made me want to turn my back on this place. I realized now that even though this place is sorta like a retarded step-child who you want to suffocate by shoving a pillow to their face while they quietly sleep, I cannot come to such a decision. I feel it is my duty to keep spreading my love across everyone's face, and keep everyone on here jolly.
It's the Tanners bitches, MRSADISTIC loves everyone even those who forget the NVGR on their blog title. Try less sucking next time.
i don't need an nvgr in the title, it speaks for itself. if you can't figure that out then you're a fucking retard.
and another thing zombie lover, until you even write a blog, you are in no way shape or form a considering opinion.
I don't know, I kinda like the word "immancapation", makes me think of beheadings and such.
And I liked Sadistic better when he was dawn of the dead and not completely predictable.
I find it pathetic of myself that the entire time while I was watching the inauguration, I knew the entire layout of the National Mall because of Fallout 3.
Not even close. It's an historic day, but the greatest? He's just another politician, and you know, we still have basically the same Congress. Plus, I don't consider hiring a bunch of Clinton aides "fundamental" change. We'll see how things go, but don't be naive.
But can he defeat a China Inf rush? I dunno man...
sadistic has lost some of his luster but is still a valued member of our community.
how is persona sadistic?
I hereby declare racism abolished!
Yay! Now we can go back to putting women where they belong!
"Not even close. It's an historic day, but the greatest? He's just another politician, and you know, we still have basically the same Congress. Plus, I don't consider hiring a bunch of Clinton aides "fundamental" change. We'll see how things go, but don't be naive. "
Thank you! Someone has a brain around this place. For the rest, I hope your messiah does well, but according to his own plans, expect a forecast of huge failure. Also, this is a historic day, but it's not even close to the greatest day in our history. I love how everyone brings up MLK, but they forget that MLK wouldn't have voted for Obama because he was black, unlike many others have. MLK was an awesome man and an individual with principals, but Obama is nothing but a politician who constantly repeats campaign rhetoric.
whiteskwirl, its the greatest day not for who he is but for what our past of america is. its the greatest because 60 years ago a black man couldn't use the same restroom as a white man. if you don't see this day that america has changed so much that a black man can become president where just 8 years ago it was unheard of and even laughed at, then thats your opinion, it don't change mine.
tupac said it best, "even though it seems heaven sent, we ain't ready for a black president". we are ready now.
bitch I ain't lost shit.
Well, gay people still can't get married, so there's still plenty of work to be done. And personally I would say black people being freed from slavery is a better day for our history than this. Also universal suffrage is a better day than this.
Like I said, today is historic, but I don't think it's the greatest day in our history. I'm not trying to change your opinion about that, however. I'm just stating mine.
i respect your opinion and am glad you stated it, we need alot more things to happen in america but i think we're on the right path now.
it is historic, that we can agree on.
It really doesn't matter shit. It doesn't matter that he's black, or chinese or latin american, he's another politician. To see beyond his skin color (and know that he's really the same) is what matters.
That said, I don't see the change he can bring.
Usedtabe, you still hanging on to that McCain - Palin gamer pic?
lol I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. Let's play a game some time, man. It's been a while.
A puppet is still a puppet even if he's black.
I'm voting for a black, gay, man/woman/transvestite in 2021, you can bet on that!
Also they turned the sound down when Bush Sr. and Jr. came in so that people wouldn't hear the Boos. That's nice fascism right there so no i don't think America is saved even with Obama.
I was actually around when the immancapation happened in '86.
I would just like to add
what was fascist about turning down the boo's of people? did they arrest the boo'ers? or beat them? or target only a section of the crowd?
@Qraze
Manipulation of media is considered a fascist way to control the people. You can also call it a dictatorship, whatever floats your boat.
Yeah, uh this is Destructoid last time I checked.
@Qraze: I'm happy to hear that you are so passionate about Barack Obama becoming our 44th President. If you really are as passionate as I think you are, then I don't think there's anything anyone could say that would convince you that today is not truly the greatest day in American History.
There are so many other incredibly important days that lead up to this one that I can't imagine I personally could ever call this the greatest day in America History. How about the day the Declaration of Independance was signed, or the day we won the Revolutionary War? How about the day the Constitution was signed, or the day the North won the Civil War? What about the day that women could finally vote, or the day when black people could finally vote?
These events I listed are not days that had to do with one person, but days that changed millions of people's lives. I just have a hard time putting them on the same level as today. I'm happy a black man could become president, and I personally think today is a GREAT DAY, but I just can't say it's the greatest day, because without all those other days, today would have never even been possible.
Yeah Qraze, respect for the previous president by the director of operations at a swearing in ceremony is TOTALLY facist. You racist.
Fun Fact: The day I was born, apparently, was also the day of the broadcast premiere of Full House.
politiks r ghey
j/k but if this goes awry, I'm picking a new country
He's the President of the United States of AMERICA. He's an American first, ethnicity second. As long as he does a good job I'm happy.
LIGHTTHROWER IS ALEX JONES!!! THE BLACK HELICOPTERS ARE COMING!! BILDERBURG RULES ALL!! 9/11 WAS ORCHESTRATED SO THAT BUSH AND CHENEY COULD STAY IN POWER AND RULE US ALL WITH MARTIAL LAW...oh, wait, that never happened.
I should've just said that by turning down the boos, they were eleminating their freedom of speech. If the audience thinks Bush Sr. and Jr. are rotten bastards, let them boo. Deprieving someone of their freedom of speech is a serious offence.
It makes me sad how people expect him to fail and disappoint. Whatever happened to optimism? Have a little.
but they were not depriving anyones freedom of speech, it was about the inaugaration, not the people who were there to witness it. you heard the boo's right? so they weren't shut off, just turned down so we could hear the thing.
and manipulation of media is a totally different thing then what you think it is. does the media say that Bush is greatest president ever? no, quite the opposite actually.
and silverdragon made me re-think a few things but nonetheless, i still feel this is the greatest day in america for our generation, thus far. but remember, its not about who he but what we did when voting that really showed how much america has changed and evolved.
i'm done commenting on this and silverdragon wins
That woman's poem/speech thing was unlistenable. She should have used words like "unlistenable" more.
@Qraze
What part of "Also they turned the sound down..." don't you understand? Of course we didn't hear the boos if the sound was off. That's the whole point of turning the sound down, so that the people watching the tv don't hear the boos. Now i wish i was there at the inauguration so i could've heard all the boos. But Qraze you are right, a million people strong audience booing the Bush family really is America's greatest day.
@Qraze: I'm pretty sure I could get behind the idea that today is the "greatest day in america for our generation"! :-)
cool. i'm sorry for suggesting events of the past were'nt on par but like you said, without those events, today would have not happened.
@Qraze: When are we playing poker again man?
tonight! maybe, i'm kinda under the weather right now but i'll hit you up on psn when we do.
psn poker nights is not cancelled but is on a rotating schecule for the moment.
I don't think a lot of Americans understand how important this day is for the rest of the world as well. When was the last time that an American politician could travel the globe and not only have people come and cheer for him, but wave American flags in support?? It's unheard of. The world has never been so captivated by an American election. This man is uniting the world. The Bush Era is over and the healing process can begin.
Obama represents a new future for the US, for the world.
BARACK-O-RAMA!
I have nothing intelligent to add. I'm sorry.
As much as Obama is the man of the hour, I was kinda hoping that you'd played Assassin's Creed or Eternity's Child.
why do games with apostrophes fail so hard?
i like assassin's creed, in short bursts.
Assassin's Creed is really fun, it's just known for it's amazing ability to disappoint. Other than oblivion, it's the only game I've 1k'd.
