7.5 dumpster sacks of money out of 10
I would give you an 8 out of 10, even though I don't believe in scoring stuff with numbers anymore, so a B+ should do it.
Also, Kirby! <(*o*<)
Why should we want your two cents about reviewing reviews if you think reviewing something that has been reviewed alot shouldn't be reviewed. Since the Destructoid team is constantly reviewing their review system I think this blog is hypocritical, especially since you contradicted yourself in the first four words of this blog.
In fact how is it that I can get away reviewing a review of reviews? This is madness!
Typical D-toid.
People have a right to have their own opinion, they have the right to feel differently about a game then someone else. Some people will take his word, others will try and see for themselves. It's better to have multiple opinions coming from multiple personality's to see how the game stands up, rather then taking one persons word for it.
redzie, i will put your suggestions into my practice.
Points off for the double negative. 8/10 ;)
No points off for the double negative. Extra points for reviewing something that hasn't been reviewed.5/10
If you want to review those games and you feel you have something interesting to bring to the table, start your own thing.
Although we have a good amount of freedom here on the C blogs its only common sense that your post should still be somehow relevant to dtoid (meaning you should be aware of the main posts and not posting that they just confirmed the new 240 gig Wii hard drive 10 times the day after sterling already made some cynical almost funny but borderline offensive comments about it on the front page).
bottom line, use your brains children.
I'm not sure I completely agree with this. Just because I am paid to write reviews, it does not make me an "expert." I was hired for my ability to write, not my credentials as a gaming expert.
Destructoid editors are gamers, just like everyone else. We might know how to conform to a stylesheet a little better, and might be more experienced in writing for big audiences, but that doesn't make us any less infallible than a CBlogger.
I love reviewing, and I obviously wouldn't do it if I didn't believe my opinions were valid. However, that doesn't make me or any other reviewer infallible or "better" than another gamer.
I do agree that reviews of big titles rarely offer anything new. As you say, we all know what there is to be said about Gears 2. I would love to see more indie and obscure games reviewed (this is something I constantly think about for Destructoid's front page). But to invalidate the opinions of someone simply because they are not given money to rate a game is wrong, I feel.
You may agree with me on Sonic because our opinions generally sync up, that's fine. You should not agree with me simply because I have an arbitrary "reviews editor" title under my name.
Luff. <3
That proves my point that editors suck ass. :-D
to me someone who is a professional is someone who gets paid to do something and does it well. you can ride bulls forever but until you get paid to ride, you're not professional bull rider, you're just a bull rider. i'm not professional gamer, i'm a hardcore gamer. a professional gamer goes to money making tournaments and comes back with prizes. we in the c-blogs report on something due to the passion we have for games, that does not make us professionals.
