The downfall of HD-DVD continues....
Putthebottledown | 2:07 PM on 02.11.2008 8 comments

I got a nice little letter delivered to my in box today from netflix....

"We're Going Blu-ray

Dear Putthebottledown,

You're receiving this email because you have asked to receive high-definition movies in the HD DVD format. As you may have heard, most of the major movie studios have recently decided to release their high-definition movies exclusively in the Blu-ray format. In order to provide the best selection of high-definition titles for our members, we have decided to go exclusively with Blu-ray as well.

While we will continue to make our current selection of HD DVD titles available to you for the next several months, we will not be adding additional HD DVD titles or reordering replacements.

Toward the end of February, HD DVDs in your Saved Queue will automatically be changed to standard definition DVDs. Then toward the end of this year, all HD DVDs in your Queue will be changed to standard definition DVDs. Don't worry, we will contact you before this happens...."

Awesome. In reality the only reason I bought the HD-DVD player was because of the mass amounts of freebies I could get. But now it seems all for naught. I may have to break down and finally buy a PS3...

Where did HD DVD go wrong?

D$%k roommate has a "video game museum"?
Putthebottledown | 4:44 PM on 01.21.2008 5 comments

Lookie here...

Usually the roommates that complain actually have something to complain about. This person seemingly HATES fun as he/she complains about the constant blowing....into NES carts. Video games seem to be a nerve around d**k roommates, as you can see at the other two links. I'd love a roommate like these... I mean my mom it would be better then what I have right now... a mother who hates playing "dead or alive" on expert..

I netted this little story for Shacknews.com

"Harmonix has announced the next batch of downloadable content for Rock Band on its message board, revealing five new songs from three different bands.

Carrying a limited seasonal price tag of 80 Microsoft Points ($0.99) each--half off the normal asking price for individual tracks--the latest additions are "Attack" and "The Kill" from the Jared Leto-helmed 30 Seconds to Mars, "Dirty Little Secret" and "Move Along" by powerpop act All-American Rejects, and "Song With A Mission" from Swedish new wavers The Sounds.

The songs will arrive tomorrow via the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Marketplace and next week through the PlayStation 3's online PlayStation Store, as Sony's service is not updating due to the holidays.

Harmonix also noted that it will continue to fulfill its promise of weekly downloadable content next week, though the tracks were not disclosed. "

At 80 points a song.. I'm pretty happy. Even if I hate All American-rejects
