Hello Dtoid and the greater internet collective, it is I a newly registered member. Thus i believe that you might know what this will lead to. Indeed this a hello Dtoid/Who in the world is this random person on the internet blog! Yes through this beautiful yet treacherous land of words and phrases i shall reveal unto you some mysterious truths of the individual who is behind the tiny picture logo as well as what i will be dong with the almighty power of having a community blog! In a slightly more serious note however here are a few bits of info about the individual who bears the title of "Psyforce."
I am a 22 year old recent college graduate from the great state of Texas [you may begin to insert cowboy/ cattle/ ye haw jokes now ; ) ]. I will sadly have to disappoint those who wish to hear of any potential stories of ranches or country music as I have grown up in the suburbs and main cities instead of the country. As for what drew me into the wonders of videogames i am a single child that mainly interacted with only my parents as many of my childhood friends either lived relatively far away or moved as I was growing up and i didn't really know any of the kids that lived in my neighborhood. Thus i was primarily in charge of entertaining myself at home and with myself never being a huge fan of television and only watching the occasional movie I soon gravitated towards video games for my jollies. Like most Kids in the 1990s I grew up with the NES, SNES, N64, and early Gameboys for my consoles of choice. Then in my teenage years I moved onto the console juggernaut that was the PlayStation 2 and its vast library of goodness. More recently I have been playing the PS3 and the Nintendo 3DS as well as some small indie PC titles. So Nintendo and Sony have been my primary stomping grounds although i did own a 360 for a few years.
So now that you know how i got into gaming and know a few tidbits about who I am I think I will wrap up this blog by stating why i joined and what i plan to do with my new found blogging powers. I deiced to create a Destructoid account after visiting the site for a while because the community was very lively, fun, and had a good sense of humor compared to some of the other gaming sites that i visit from time to time. As for the community blog i plan to do the occasional review/ preview of whatever i am interested in from time to time as well as a discuss a few thoughts that i have on gaming in general as well as some of the recent industry trends.
So in closing i look forward to becoming an active member of the community and provide content that will either make you laugh, smile, rage, or just leave you in a state of going "WTF did i just read?" I don't game as much as i used too as of late but i have my PSN ID on my ID page and i will look up my 3DS code and place it there as well so if you are ever in need of a comrade in virtual mayhem i will do what is within my power to lend my years worth of alien shooting, demon slaying, and street brawling knowledge to your aid. So until next time i will leave you with this video of Japanese people dressing up in cuddly outfits and dancing so you can get your daily dose of Kawaii. Until next time you stay classy Dtoid :P
About Psyforce One of us since 8:14 PM on 01.02.2014
Just your average 22 year old beer drinking, book reading, music loving gamer. When i am not conquering worlds of a virtual nature through means of absurdly colorful weapons or a little bit of the old ultra violence i am either cuddling up with a good book or indulging in the occasional Netflix/Anime/Youtube binge. My taste in games is kind of all over the place ,but I mainly prefer Platformers, Beat em Ups, Turn Based Strategy, Stealth games and Character Action. I do however dabble from time to time in shooters, RPGs, and puzzle games.
