FINALLY. For those who don't know, we recorded this episode 3 separate times! But it's hear and better than ever. We have a TON of games to talk about this episode! 9 reviews total! MonkeyPaw Games sent us 3 of their Retro Rush titles so we have reviews for Double Dragon (PSone/PSN), Lucifer Ring (PSone/PSN), The Firemen 2: Pete and Danny (PSone/PSN). We've a few games for you mobile folks too, Hoplite (iOS/Android), QuizUp (iOS/Android), Flapthulu (iOS). We've got some bigger revies too, One Piece: Romance Dawn (3DS), Dustforce (Vita/PS3), OlliOlli (Vita).
And last, but certainly not least we've got our review for Bravely Default (3DS)! It's definitely been one of our most anticipated games for years and we are so excited to finally be reviewing it. This is definitely one that we will talking about for a while!
Anyway, it's been tough getting this episode out, but we're glad to finally get it to you guys! Sorry about weird echos and things. We're trying out a new recording method that's easier on us and gives you better sound quality, but there were some hiccups early in the episode. Enjoy!
It's been a minute but we are finally recording a new episode this weekend! We've had a lot of games to review including the meat of our episode, Bravely Default! So you have that to look forward too. We will also be reviewing Dustforce (PSN), Double Dragon (PSX), FireMen 2 (PSX), Flappy Bird (LOL), QuizUp (iOS), One Piece: Romance Dawn (3DS) and probably one or two more I'm forgetting about.
There was a Nintendo Direct this week too so you know we'll be discussing that as well. What we'd really like though is questions from our favorite people in the world, OUR LISTENERS! If you have any questions please feel free to leave them below. And make sure to watch here for when the episode is edited and ready for your ears!
In this episode it's Pocketoid's 2013 Game of the Year Awards! Here at Pocketoid we only choose portable games so that means Nintendo 3DS, Playstation Vita, iOS, and Android! What an amazing year for portable games! Like, for real. Choosing our winners was so difficult and we only picked from games we actually played this year. There were plenty of games that didn't make it into the running simply because we didn't have time to check them out in 2013! It's a good problem to have.
Our choices may or may not reflect your own, but either way these are OUR lists so no complaining! Some of the best portable games of all time came out this year and it was very difficult choosing between them. Still, we think we did a pretty good job. Also, audio got out of sync a very tiny bit, sorry about that.
What were your favorite games of 2013!? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter!
Hey guys! Just popping in to let you know that we are officially recording our very official 2013 Game of the Year Awards episode today! Shoot us a question and we'll answer it on the show! Of course, these are Pocketoid's games of the year so the only games that qualify are games that were released in 2013 for the Sony PS Vita, Nintendo 3DS, or mobile platforms!
Maybe Fire Emblem: Awakening will actually win something on Destructoid after all?
Also, we want to hear from you! What was YOUR favorite portable game of 2013? Tell us and we'll discuss it on the show!
In this episode of Pocketoid, we have so many reviews! We've got reviews of all 8 Sega 3D Classics (3DS eShop), Race to the Line (3DS eShop) Stick it to the Man (PS Vita/PS3), and Rainbow Moon (PS Vita/PS3)! We've also got a lot more Vita things to talk about these days because we both now own a PS Vita! All around this is a great episode and we hope that you guys enjoy it and check out all of the great games we had to talk about!
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Next time, Pocketoid's 2013 Portable Game of the Year Awards! Get hype!
I'd also like to note that we will be giving away some copies of Stick It To The Man starting tomorrow on our twitter account.
Also, we are still working on getting back up on the iTunes store but their customer support has been complete dildos.
Hey! We put two episodes up and one of them was actually on time! Hopefully that becomes a trend. We also should have the iTunes situation ironed out soon, I know we've said that before but we're putting it back to the way it used to be for now so that will fix it for sure.
Anyways, in episode 43 we talk about the totally not creepy game, Senran Kagura Burst and Jett Rocket II. That episode also featured our good friend Browner2008/Apoli90. Then there was the usual news and other nerdy junk that we always talk about.
Episode 44 featured reviews for Tearaway, Ohno Odyssey, Lone Survivor: Director's Cut, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds! Holy wow this episode had so much games it was insane! This was also the episode that we announced that both of your hosts now own PS Vitas so you can expect even more Vita coverage and reviews in the future.
We had so much fun getting these episodes together for you guys so we really hope you guys enjoy it as well. Keep an eye out here for the next episode where we will be reviewing Stick It To The Man as well as possibly having a giveaway.
