Sometimes I do drastic things.
After three weeks of kinda just puttering around on my 360, I cleared my thumb drives the internal flash memory, reset the system and took it to Gamestop with my pile of 360 games. This was inevitable, really. I really only got into this generation of games around 2010 and the Wii, PS3 and 360 have been phased in and subsequently phased out. I do regret parting with the Wii, but I regret investing in 360 and PS3 more.
Because Steam sales, basically.
So I took my stuff in and decided depending on the outcome I'd get a PS Vita, Wii U or just pay off a bunch of 3DS games. Got $230 and there were no used PS Vitas available locally so I just went with the 3DS pre-orders. Paid off Fire Emblem: Awakening, Etrian Odyssey IV and SMT: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers. I also picked up Pokemon White 2, New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Paper Mario.
Feels good, actually, Most of my 360 queue had been completed anyway and stuff like Bioshock Infinite can wait until I get a better PC. There i can reunite with Skyrim, Fallout and such through a Steam sale, I figure. Steam sales are awesome like that and I think its more financially sound to go with Steam, Wii U, 3DS and maybe a Vita from here on out.
For now the PS2, the 3DS and the handful of Steam games I can run, along with the odd iOS game should suffice. Plus with those 3DS games paid off it'll be easier to get a Wii U sooner rather than later. Then I can have more Mario, Zelda, Xeno-stuff, Monster Hunter, probably some Metroid and that Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem thing.view gallery
