I knew it! I knew they were going to finally put something cool in the game. Based on the 1UP review, the main mode is "ok", the extended championship is amazing, and the versus mode is "eh". It's probably worth it just for the extended mode alone.

Because Punch Out is a good game, and it's nice to see it get some recognition instead of fading away like Nintendo's treatment of the Mother games. Meanwhile, a whole new generation of gamers get to enjoy the accessible yet fun classic while olbies enjoy their nostalgia trip. Throw in the fact that the developers really "get it" and are making this a proper revival, and yea, that's something to get pumped for.

Plus, it's not like the Wii's got too much to look forward to, unless Nintendo totally saves face at E3 this year.

Fair enough, It's nice to see the oldies get some attention, but this is not going to be worth full retail price. This should be a Wii-Ware title. Newbies will never touch this game. I know everyone has their retro goggles on for Punchout, but come on. This is Nintendo trying to squeeze us for a few more nostalgia dollars, and this time, I'm not gonna bite.

@10BobMarleys: Nobody complained when Super Punch-Out!! came out and said "Well, this is just an NES game at full retail price". A game doesn't need to be a 30-hour epic game to be worth the price of admission. Punch-out!! has always been about learning the fights, ranking your way up, and then doing it better. It's a test of skill and memorization, and it's actually somewhat impressive when someone can get through it all on the top of the leaderboards.
It might be a short game, but the replay value is great.

Pretty cool. To be honest, I was really hoping the last fighter would be Doc Louis. Like, I was hoping he would remove that big sweatshirt and reveal chiseled abs cut from steel.

Oh well. There's always my fanfic, I guess.

Thats pretty stinkin awesome but I still feel this game won't be worth $50. Don't get me wrong I want to play it and it looks really fun but as a poor unloved college student with a part time job ... I'd just rather rent it and buy Infamous instead.
