I would totally get into this series...if I could find any of the games at a reasonable (read: at most MSRP) price
I wonder if you can use a new game+ from the original version?
It uses your old save file, so yea.
Yeah I was so siked when I heard this. I need to finish it before FES comes out so I can enjoy the hell out of FES as much as I did the normal part of Persona 3.
Hopefully this version will be easier to find that the original.
@Mozgus -- blasphemy!
well a good enough reason for me and my friend to squeal like hot asian chicks in our apartments.
cannot wait...
My very first blog on this site was extended editions of games, Persona 3 was one I mentioned.
I could never shake the feeling that I was playing an incomplete version of Persona 3, if FES is coming here it would very awesome.
only RPG I stuck with most of the way...then my save got corrupted
So wait is this like a what Kingdom Hearts does with the Final Mixes(basically an expansion pack) or is this just a spin off?
I'm a bit out of it atm.
It's kinda both: P3 FES changes the save file or something so that you get new content in P3 (according to a friend of a friend) and comes with an extra side story that takes place in March where you control Aigis.
GAH! I need to finish this game.
*foams at the mouth*
This is actually GREAT news for me...
Here in Southern Cali, it's IMPOSSIBLE to find a copy of Persona 3, in ANY store.
oooh, this is the best news. Thank you very much Phoenix Gamma!
can't wait to play that! lets hope it comes out!
AFAIK this is still majorly unconfirmed news, the resume thing is a few months old I believe. Dare to hope, though!
Eep, read more carefully and saw the counter, disregard my last comment!
I'm excited.
Please let this be true such a awesome game, would love to play the expansion.
hehe..i remember a rumor of persona 4 for ps2..
yep, i think i read it right here in d´toid..
and i remember post "nah..most probably (sp?) is persona fes..
i really hope so...
so...the great question...
WHEN?!
when persona 3 came out?
Still PS2 exclusive? ....
Now, I'm a big fan of Persona 3, (so much so that I even worked on the Player's Guide for it) but I have to say I'm not TOO terribly excited about the FES expansion. One of the things I loved about P3 was its ambiguous ending, where you don't know what happened to the hero. FES' Aigis mode gives the game a definite ending, and ruins that wonderful ambiguity I thought made the ending really special.
Oh well, I'll get Maya as a Persona. Guess I can't complain TOO terribly much.
But...you do know what happened to the hero. And Episode Aigis isn't so much an "ending ending" as it is a made for DVD sequel.
This post will contain spoilers, so anyone who hasn't played P3 shoudl stop reading now.
No, you don't. All that happens is the screen fades to white and Aigis sheds a tear. Then you hear Junpei yell "Hey" and the credits roll. You don't know if he lived or died or what. I personally like to believe that he lived.
But FES ruins all that since the Hero has to die for the whole episode to work. :/
Minato uses all his life force to stop the final boss. That's why it requires all his HP. There's a reason he felt sleepy throughout the playable ending; he hangs on to what little he has left to fulfill the promise everyone made. Essentially, fighting to stay awake is also a fight to stay alive a little longer.
Thus, the game ends with Minato finally falling asleep.
Yeah, I got that much. I(and a couple of my friends who played the game along with me) just choose to believe that he had a strong enough life force to survive the encapsulation of Nyx inside of himself. He held Ryoji in there for years and years; I think there's a strong case for him to be able to do it again.
Maybe it's a less meaningful ending, but I liked it that way in this case. And it's not like I'm in denial or anything; Atlus says he died, so that's what happened. I'm just saying I liked it a little more when it was mostly up to the player to interpret, is all I'm saying(It's one of the things I loved about Nocturne, too).
I blame it on my American upbringing and our deep-seated need for stories to have happy endings.
This is some of the best new in a long time. I like how Atlus doesn't seem to be half assing us these days. Possibly my favorite video game company. They have come a long way from shitty golf and other crap games on the NES.
Rub away...rub away. Me? I'm going to celebrate by sacrificing one of my cats to the dark gods.
damn I just bought P3 I bet hurry up and beat it
