The opening may ask more questions than answer. Like "what the bloody hell are they singing?", or "can they MAKE an oversexed character loli-er than Etna?", or "how many large anime boobs can you put in a game before it's too much?" But I think the biggest one is
"why couldn't the Disgaea anime look this good, goddamnit?!"
I always found the Disgaea games charming. Sadly, this game seems to set itself up to disappoint me:
It's on the PS3.
I never beat either of the Disgaeas. There's grind, and then there's Disgaea.
The protagonist reminds me of the heroes in children's books and movies, where the author or whoever says "I'll give him really big glasses! That way kids with glasses will see that they can be heroes too!" He's just not as cool as Laharl, who seems to be stuck as a cameo again, alongside Etna, which is even more of a sin.
Also, let's not forget it still looks like a PS2 launch title.
But at least it has a cute anime intro :3
I think I'll learn that zombie dance now...
I still love me some Etna. On top of that, I have yet to beat either of the first 2. only cause it takes some damn time to play. I haven't started the 2nd but the first is uh...well i'm still pretty early in and it's just way too much grinding for each single character to keep me in for good right now.
The anime was that bad? Sad panda...
Well, I don't have a PS3, so there won't be any urge to pick up D3. My wallet can't handle it.
Just because the max level is in excess of 350,000 doesn't mean you actually have to reach it. I mean, La Pucelle's highest level boss can be beaten at level 300, and it had the 9999 cap too.
Also: I HAET Etna, Taro is where it's at.
God I love these games and I can't wait for this.
@ Ravana: It's not BAD, persay...it just has some choppy animation, a totally different artist, and the story get flipped around so that it's a whole new beast. I remember Jonathan and Midboss all fighting Laharl within the first two episodes for some reason, maybe even the first.
Item world is completely optional. You don't NEED to do it, therefore, the grinding required to go through it is not required to the completion of the main game.
