Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
And then there's multiplayer co-op, and a little bit of competition (at the end of levels, you fight each other for a kiss from a princess). It sounds like it's gonna be fun.
1600 points is perfectly acceptable.
Also, have you played it? Cause it is dope.
As for Castle Crashers, being the second game from Fulp, Paladin, and the rest I'm expecting more polish in the level design. The screenshots already show a lot more visual panache than AH in terms of color, which is great. Aside from some hands-on time two years ago when it was still called The Behemoth's Next Game I haven't played much of it. Given my thoughts on AH, I expect it to be a worthwhile game if perhaps a bit overhyped. I'm reasonably hopeful that the amount of time they've put into it will make it feel less like a Flash game on Newgrounds that you have to pay for than Alien Hominid.
Overpriced, I'm going to say yes if it is more than 1200 points. I would prefer it be 800 but I guess I can stretch that far. I am really against pricing games according to their 'quality' or 'content', especially when the baseline for 'average' games is being set at 800. There should be standardised pricing across the board, just like with retail.
I think Castle Crashers, having played it a year ago at PAX, is AMAZING, and secretes pure win
I dunno. Ill just wait to try the Castle Crashers demo before i make up my mind. I actually find the style way more appealing than Alien Hominid but still dont understand why people are so uppity about it.
and that demo will be used
even games I KNOW I will love I demo them just to make sure.
No game like this has been made in over a decade, dude. Its Golden Axe, its Double Dragon, its Legend and its slightly an RPG as well. You travel around a world map and level up, getting new weapons and shit. All combined with some of the slickest and stylized art in the industry.
If you arent interested in it then dont worry about it. But it's definitely not overhyped if you want a game of this kind, and most retro fans do.
