Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Haha, I actually read this earlier today...
I honestly don't have any, erm, anger, I guess, towards GameStop. I also can't remember the last time I actually bought something from them, but, whatever.
I have had a really creepy employee ask me to pre-order Spider Man 3, because, y'know, it comes with a poster... Such a big poster.
Oh, I've got a nightmare experience. Just check my last blog.
Pretty cool. I liked reading about the trading in games. Cause...I've burned down a few Gamestops in my day for them ripping me off. Just kidding. But seriously...
A couple comments from that page that I agree with:
"Man I sure wish that my company had a bad reputation so I could write a long winded guide to how to shop correctly at my store."
"Sorry- this just basically says one thing to me:
'The customer should conform to our practices' instead of the other way around."
This is a prime example of Gamestop's "We're going to screw you and if you don't like it then leave" attitude. Well guess what motherfuckers. People are leaving and finding alternatives.
I personally haven't had many problems with Gamestop. If I don't like the people working there I usually just leave with out a purchase. There is a store near my house in Orlando that shop at ever so often. They managers there are complete nerds and they know a lot about their games and systems. They even quote internet memes when the situation applies.
Fuck yeah, hurhur!
My Gamespot is actually really nice, and I enjoy shopping there. Guess I should assume all Gamestops are like that! (Do you get it?)
long article is boring
gamestop is evil
Digg.com? what the fuck man?
That was one of the better articles I've read on them. Sounds about right, too.
I learned things... thank you.
I'm going to come down on the side of the Gamestop manager here. He's absolutely right. People seem to think that just because they're customers they're entitled to more than they deserve... You don't like the practices of a business, don't go there. Quit whining about it on the internet like they sacrifice babies because employees nag you about preorders just so they don't lose their job. And seriously, you don't like the trade-in credit you get there? Sell it on eBay. Duh.
