Help me make a vidyagame!

Pepillou2 summons DToid Community!

Hey guys. I know the Destructoid community is not my personal army, but maybe someone would like to help. Lugaid13 and I have to make a videogame for a class (not that I'm complaining, I've always wanted to make one). It has to be a 2D action game, programmed in NetBeans (Java).

We thought a game like Double Dragon or River City Ransom would be awesome, but the teacher told us it was a crappy idea, because everyone makes that kind of games.
Then we thought about Lost Vikings... but the teacher wants LAN multiplayer, not 2 players on 1 keyboard! So wee need something different.

Can you help us?
Please take into consideration that we are n00bs at Java. We've made simple programs, but not videogames.

When it's finished I'll post it here and/or make a Destructoid Mod.
