Tim Buckly does realize he writes a video game web comic and not Oprah guest fan fictions right?
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA I HOPE SHES DEAD
Ok that was a little harsh...
Also the CheeShop from Riser will be epic.
No, I agree with with you King. I hope she is dead.
Bitch had what was coming to her.
I mean uh...oh...the sympathy
I know a few people who messaged me about this, since they know I read (but rarely enjoy) CAD. Frankly, even if this is supposed to be sad, I can't feel bad for the characters when I don't care about them in the first place. There's far too much cliche drama and not enough good laughs about video games.
It's kind of hard to shed the "video game" skin that's cast on you. I guess he's just trying to expand on the universe he's set his characters in.
midi linkin park... bawwwwwwwwwww
maybe some folks dig it, we don't bash whatever you do because it's maybe lame.
wait... nevermind, you are lawling because of the motivational part of this comic... I get it.
I approve. and I just farted.
What? Was she pregnant or something....I'm confused.
gas
guitar, for a wile she was pregnant and tim buckly just killed a baby. granted its a "gaming" comic. but still theres somethings you just don't do in comics. :/
I had a gf who had a miscarriage. Mine. I'm okay with it. Let Tim write what he wants to write.
I don't read the comic, but what it amounts to as a layman is that he just wrote himself out of a new character, via murder by Creator. That's what I kind of get, anyway.
Form what I gather though, this comic generally skewed more Family Circus than Garfield anyway.
if you read his news post, he explains why he chose this to happen. it made me feel quite bad for her. it's not the smartest choice is the history of webcomics, but it's a choice that made the comic grow up a little bit.
I don't think it's "going too far" in the sense that it's incorrect, and I don't really have a problem with the plot twist myself, but I can see what people dislike it. It's as pretentious as a webcomic can get. I found the responses to it funnier than I usually find the comic anyway, so I still got lulz out of it.
Smack, smack a baby,
make me go CRAZY,
Smack a baby.
I cry and I die
I cry, and smack a baby.
I don't think its gone too far. As much as people seem to not like CAD here, if you read the post about the comic you will find out numerous things. This has been planned, and Tim has gone through it before. Its fine if you don't like CAD, but to sorta disrespect it because of this comic is ignorant in a sense. Its like a musician putting personal experience into a song.
It is depressing, but since Tim has dealt with a real miscarriage before, I respect him for putting it out there through his work.
I see no problems here.
Buckley doesn't have premade facial expressions to cut and paste onto babies so it had to be killed. Sad but true.
Maybe the baby has that syndrome where it's born without a face :p Only CAD readers would get that.
On another note I do agree CAD needs to be more about the gaming and gaming culture.
Fucking Tim Buckley.
Freetouch is evil, but awesome
Buckley doesn't have premade facial expressions to cut and paste onto babies so it had to be killed. Sad but true.
QFT.
I can't stand CAD, how do you people put up with it?
It's seriously DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA VIDEO GAME REFRENCE DRAMA DRAMA.
Early on, it wasn't so bad, but now, well, as you said.
Shark Jumpin', yo.
Well. It is his fault that he didn't cultivate any sympathy towards his characters early on. He made it a comedy strip, and then three months too late he went, "Oh shit! I want a drama. Sowwy, guyses!". And now he has to go and make Ethan an hero.
Wow, I thought the poster was a shop at first, then I looked at the site.
It's not that I'm angry at him for doing this It's just that Ethan has never been a character who I could see going through these sort of things. He's always been to cartoonish to put him in a situation like this.
The comic would have gotten a lot worse if babies got involved.
So, I did my usual thing when I get home:
Open up Firefox
Hit up the C-Blogs
Middle click on the mouse to open all the stories I want to read
And this fucking song came through the speakers. I didn't know where it was coming from and couldn't pinpoint the name of the song. It finally hit me that it was Linkin Park and I finally found the source of the music. Fuck you for making me think so hard.
Also, you are correct kind sir. The jump the shark.
Also, I didn't really mean fuck you.
I like how Mario is running along to the song in rhythm to the beat.
The music made the comic okay.
I cannot stop laughing at the Shoop.
@blehman
Now I can't stop watching Mario run.
Thank God that Buckley finally decided to make this a humor strip. About time.
shoop is a better comic.
where the fuck is riser at, we need his shoops
ruthless
His comic aside, Tim Buckley is an asshole. I have first-hand experience with his dickery, but it's longer than an elevator story and I won't bore you with it.
Well if we're shooping...
@Big Z
Do tell.
Wait, I just read his TL;DR news post. I still think he knows what he's doing.
As a long time fan of CAD I was shocked by todays comic. Also I was slightly disappointed. I read CAD for the lols I get, miscarriage contains no lols.
