Ok, so its rant time. Why the hell would developers make you preorder a game so you can try the demo? Well duh because of money reasons, but honestly... the demo is supposed to demonstrate how good the game is and make me want to buy it. Example: I would love to play the Left 4 Dead demo because I love zombies and killing them is the fun part, however i can not play the damn demo because in order to I must preorder the game in order to get a code. Maybe they do it so that everyone who doesn't preorder the game will not realize how crappy it is. The opposite of this would be Call of Duty: World at War where the beta was provided for all to enjoy. I know that I am going to buy W@W even after I haven't paid much attention to videos and such released for it simply because I have played the part of the game that I will probably play the most, the multiplayer.
So I don't think that any game developer is going to read my lame ranting blog, but still, if someone does... please for the terribly poor gamers such as me... please make demos free and available for all to enjoy. I want to try the game.
To end on a light note, here's something funny...
I was a little put off by the fact that it was exclusive for people who preordered - it's not like they need to be convinced or hyped up any further.
It's something tangible for you after giving money in advance. Of course everyone is getting the demo, but you get it first, you get the chance to try the game you pre-order.
I agree it sucks, I don't like this trend of charging for demos , be it by restricting it to preorders or offering it as part of that PS3 Qore thing or whatever.
Early for those wanting it so baddly.
also, what I don't get is why it's the "Call of Duty: World at War MP BETA"
Doesn't Beta imply that it is still in Beta testing mode and there could be some bugs they will fix before it ships? If so, then I highly doubt that is going to happen since the Beta just ended last night and the game comes out tomorrow. Call it what it is, a MP Demo.
