Inane Facts:

* Once had aspirations of becoming an Apple // software pirate (What? Like you were never 14...).

* Has attended at least two conventions a year since 1995.

* While working at Micro Center's distribution warehouse in the summer of 2000, witnessed over 200 copies of Daikatana set to be shipped to one store and one store alone.

* Was once paid in parts while working at a small computer repair shop.

* Co-Accepted the Origins Game of the Year Award for Hackmaster.

* Perhaps the first man in North America to cosplay a character from Cave Story (the Doctor).

* Once played Street Fighter the Movie: The Game on a PS3 that never worked properly since. The game became known for it's destructive properties.

So another trailer was shown at the TGS this week, and while everyone is going on about the gameplay and whatnot, there was one thing that stood out to me more then anything and got me excited for the game:

Yes, this jackass right here. The one and only Dan Hibiki, founder of Saikyo-ryu and the godfather of all gag characters everywhere. The man who made relentless taunting a tactic, mocks SNK with his every move, broke his hand for our amusement in SvC Chaos, and makes these games worth playing just a little bit more.

It goes without saying that he needs to be included in the roster. It just wouldn't be right without his lousy fireballs and super taunts. Besides, I'm good with gag characters anyway. Joe in KoF and Faust in Guilty Gear? Yeah, those are my strong choices.

Joe and Faust are funny , but are REAL fighters anyway , but Dan is just for laughing * and humiliation if ou beat someone* .... BOY YA HAVE SOME EXPLANATIONS TO DO.....

For me joke characters have to be useless and only used to humiliate your oponent , not normal characters that have strange personalities ...

I THOUGHT I'd glimpsed Dan in that video, but seeing as he's one of my all-time favorite characters (not just in SF either) I figured it might have been wishful thinking...I certainly hope he's playable, but the fact that he's holding a mic in that pic makes me wonder if he'll just make a cameo in one of the backgrounds or something. Guess we'll hafta wait and see!

And as far as the "true nature" of joke characters is concerned, I'll honestly take 'em any way I can get 'em - if nothing else it warms my heart to hear the "hardcore" fighting game players gripe about them, heh heh.
