I like the dungeons in P4 much more than anything in P3, I must admit. But you're right, they can be run through pretty easily.
The full moon's were the only good part of Tartarus, except the very top. Such a boring and bad dungeon, P4 pretty much totally fixed that.
Yeah tartarus got a bit redundant later in the game. Luckily the battle mechanics were great enough that grinding didn't bother me at all. FES adding bonus tracks to the dungeon made it better as well.
I hated the first full moon thing cause of the music, shittiest track ever. I muted my tv halfway.
And overall I think Tartarus is bland, generic and incredibly boring, if the battle system or the narrative wasn't so good I would have dropped the game a long time ago.
@Kyousuke
It's true, the non-Tartarus parts of the game saved it. I wish they would have at least thrown in different music for each block instead of just barely remixing the same thing over and over.
I prefer the dungeons of Persona 4 to this but I am only on the third block at the moment. Sometimes I get sick of being in there so just rush through trying to find the staircase so I can get to the boss levels.
This should be an interesting series to read :)
@Pedro
Well you can talk Fuuka to change the music.
I loved the music in the dungeons in this game. Sometimes when Im walking down the long, empty halls of my high school ill listen to the music on my iPod. :) It makes me happy.
Interesting idea for blog posts. And yeah, I agree with you. Sometimes dungeons just feel like rooms with monsters, and nothing else. I like to have puzzles or something, give me an idea why I'm there, you know?
