Since every Metal Gear Solid got a rerelease with added stuff, I made a small list of things I would like to see in a Metal Gear Solid 4 rerelease.
- Boss Battle Mode: I guess this one is a given. Let me fight the bosses whenever I like to. Also add Time Attack for the boss battles with Online Leaderboards. - Classic Missions: How about adding some missions taken from earlier games but with the new graphics and gameplay? I would love to see parts of Outer Heaven or Zanzibar Land reenvisioned in 3D. - Encyclopedia: Add an encyclopedia to the game, where you can look up characters and terms of the MGS universe. For people who haven't played the previous games this might be quite helpful. Also add a previous mission segment, where you can read up on the previous story like in the first MGS. - VR Missions: I love the VR missions and would love to see them return. This one should also get Online Leaderboards. - Movie Mode: MGS4 has an incredible amount of cut scenes, so why not add a movie mode much like the Existence bonus disc of Metal Gear Solid 3. Not only do a lot of the MGS fans like to watch the cut scenes, but I also would like to show a certain cut scene to friends of mine to show them the greatness of MGS4 without playing through the whole game again to reach that point. - More Costumes and Camos: OK, I know, that there will be more of them downloadable via the extras menu, but what I would like to see is Snake actually looking differently. Give him different bodies via Camo, because Snake with a female head looks really, really creapy. Also I would like to have more costumes and FaceCamos of every character in this game and previous games. - Custom Soundtracks: You already have an iPod in the game, why can't I select the mp3 on my ps3 hdd? Actually they shouldn't wait for the rerelease and just add this one via update. I am certain, that there are still quite a few secrets hidden in the game only discovered by entering certain passwords in the Extras menu. Even without them added into the game, they could always release expansions via DLC. So the question is, if you'd rather pay again for the rerelease or if you would like them added via DLC. this is really a solid list. do want. i'd love to watch the game like a whole movie, to be honest.
and i actually thought the game was going to have classic missions. it was that one trailer that fooled me. (the "RE-" one.)
maybe they should also have the Metal Gear Awesome shorts as unlockable videos? eh? EH?
i'd also drop money on a PSP if they remade the first two metal gears in the style of the solid series.
I doubt they'll implement a encloypedia, too much work, vr , probably in the special edition, like MGS2, and the custom soundtrack will prolly be an update soon enough
I was gutted when finishing my first run through and realised I couldn't watch the Raiden/gecko/Vamp brawl over and over until my eyes feel out lol
As mushman said DLC will probably be the order of the day... I certainly hope so anyway.
Also, one thing I missed in MGS3 and again in this beast is the Dog Tags system.
I feel you about the Raiden/gecko/Vamp brawl so I'm going to record it in all it's glory :). Specifically the one at the end of Act 4 when you are on a split screen.
but great list. these additions would so be worth it.
