Since I just noticed, that Disgaea3 got an update, I started to play it again. The update adds some bonus characters, but since I haven't finished the game yet, the update didn't do anything for me.
I got the game shortly after release day and having played it much, because I only had an SDTV at that time and the text in the game is rather hard to read on SD.
The graphics of the game aren't exactly on next gen (or should I say current gen) level. Actually the game doesn't look much better than the previous games.
What's really great about Disgaea3 is the story.
First of all the setting is great. You are Mao, son of the overlord and student at the underworld academy. And since Mao is a "good" student, he won't go to class often. On the other hand Raspberyl, another student and childhood acquaintance of Mao, is a "bad" student, won't be late for class and will even help people.
Mao's one goal is defeat his father, because his father has done something horrible to him. He stepped on Mao's DeathOmegaStationPortable with his favorite game Mao had put 4.000.000 hours into. (In Japan they actually advertised Disgaea3 to be a 4.000.000 hours long simulation RPG.) Mao now has to go and defeat his father to avenge all the energy, he put into the game. So that this energy may rest in peace.
Other than that there is a lot of other strange and funny stuff going on.
I'm only at the start of chapter 3 and can't imagine what craziness is yet to come.
