I hardly ever find time to post on destructoid, but when I do I try and make sure to post a decent, or above average article (not saying they are, but that I try).
It saddens me to know that any article I write along with hundreds of other great blogposts other users write will not see near enough attention as they should.
This brings up the frontpage.
The frontpage is ALWAYS filled with exellent posts, and in no way am I bashing the people posting them. The people on the front page deserve to be on it, they are great writers and manage to find compelling storys that we all enjoy. There's just one problem.
It's always the same people.
It seems as though the people with a high rank on the leaderboard are almost the only ones that get their articles on the frontpage of the site.
Once again, I'm not bashing people on the leaderboards, they deserve to be on it.
This site is "community powered" and "for hardcore gamers by hardcore gamers"
So why not let us hardcore gamers/contributers choose what articles go on the frontpage and which ones do not (I.E. DIGG)?
I think this gives everyone a chance of getting on the front page, as long as the articles they write are quality. This also gives us Dtoiders a great sense of contribution as we are selecting what articles go onto our favorite site!
In no way am I saying there is anything wrong with Dtoid, it is possibly one of the best sites on the internet and I am proud to call myself a Dtoid user, I wish everyone who submits front page articles to keep up the good work, all of you are doing great jobs, and wish all of the members good luck with their blogs!

But the reason you don't see as many articles on the front page from community memebers and not the writers, is becuase there are requirements that go into any article that makes it into the front page (Which is why we have writers that are [I assume] given guidelines) so that that way Destructoid can maintain a quality on their front page.
Also: It has nothing to do with the leader boards, people like Jim, CTZ, Colette, Niero, and Ron are all paid to work for Dtoid.
Now if you're talking about me, Jim, Colette, Dale and all the other staff members, well, it's our job to post on the front page.
Stopped reading there.
