Hi,
My names Kevin, kevo,Kevinko (to a special few) or just plain(er) Kev.
I work in part time for a large broadcasting corperation, who are British, but only in a crappy lil part time role.
Been playing games since i was about 10 which is a scary few years back now!
Started off with the good old NES and have since owned at one time or another A SNES, Megadrive (and mega cd!) Gameboy colour+advance,Game gear, Gamecube,3D0,DS,Dreamcast,N64,PS1,2 and 3
Xbox and xbox 360 and the good old Wii!
So yea, i've played a few games :P
Would'nt say i was a nintendo fan boy but i am kinda loyal to them as they first got me into the whole gaming thing :P
I'm currently playing
Battlefield Bad company 2 (pc)
Earthbound (Snes)
When it works you mean. YES I SO WENT THERE...
But seriously, the 360 is overrated imho, all of the worth while games are available in better versions on the PC...
I would say the PC is the best 'console' ever but it's not a console.
Are you kidding me?? Major Omission and fail because of it.
I won't even mention the PS2. Instead of your blog title title being what it was maybe you should just title it: My love for the SNS and Dreamcast.
I know. I missed ALOT. That's my point.
A lot of PS1 games, especially the early ones, have not aged well at all. They suffer from the 2D to 3D growing pains of the time. Case in point the original Warhawk, I played it a few times when it first came out and because I've been playing so much of the PS3 version I decided to check the original out again. After downloading it from the PSN store all I can say is "Yikes."
But I have to say the Dreamcast version of SoulCalibur (forgive me if I retro goggle) was the absolutely best looking and most fluid version of Soul Calibur ever.
And most of those I can't play anymore, SOTN excepted. The SNES games hold up rather well but the PS1 games don't, for me that is. I've tried most of them quite recently because I never owned a PS1 and only played them at my friends and they just don't hold up well. The 16 bit era doesn't have this problem because of the sprites but the 32bit era does... I'm not saying these games wheren't great for the time but they suffer a lot from "1st gen 3d-ism". The PS2 is very close to being the best console ever though.
FTW
I loved my dreamcast
My console of choice is the SNES. Second is the Game Boy Advanced and third I guess would be the 360. I haven't owned each and every console out there so my choices are basically limited. I still need to buy a PS2. I've missed out on so many great games.
for me, it's a tie between the SNES and the PS2. RPGs baby.
(with the NES right behind that)
