So I'm flipping through the On Demand menu and see the first episode of the "New Knight Rider" TV show. As Michael Knight and KITT were a great part of my childhood, and I loved the show, I put it on.
They murdered Knight Rider.
Aside from the poorly done acting, and insane overuse of special effects that really don't add much in the way of being awesome, they murdered the awesome KR theme. the theme doesn't need a cranked guitar solo, because it was perfect the way it was.
I understand nostalgia makes things look jaded when you compare what you loved to what it is now, and I know that "don't Hassel-the-Hoff" isn't nearly a good actor, but the show used to be great in spite of his inability to portray any mood other than brooding...
Val Kilmer sucks in comparison to the St. Elsewhere guy as the new voice of KITT...
They even took out the opening narration...Why? That was the whole point of Knight Industries...Fuck them...They murdered Knight Rider.

I seriously cannot wait until this trend of remaking movies/series/books has finished. I know it will always be around, but it is just fucking insane now, and it's been getting worse over the years.
I saw the trailer to The Day the Earth Stood Still and was appalled. Not at the movie itself mind you, I'll admit it looks cool when you get passed the fact Keaneu Reeves can do nothing but Neo now, but appalled at the fact that they have just taken a loose idea of a great classic movie, thrown in a fuck load of special effects and then called it a remake.
They didn't even fucking include Gort! NO giant robot at all.... why couldn't they have just called it something different? Oh, that's right, because Hollywood want to rape anything that they can now because they are fucked for new ideas.
The entertainment industry is so starved for new ideas. But this shit sells, to everyone, they love it. Look how many fucking "Genre Movie" movies there had to be before one became the worst movie of all time.
I don't think I'm jaded from nostalgia at all. I can recognize when something is shit, whether it's from my childhood or not.
I also found it funny that Attack Mode = Fast and Furious mode with no weapons.
