Chu Seh!
You just need to rev, son!
I still can't get over how fast Bush ducked. If I had a camera there'd already be a low quality 'matrixy' spoof of the incident on YouTube.
The President is trained to dodge things to a certain extent nowadays, though I'm must say for someone his age those aren't bad reflexes, but at the same time he is simply ducking. That being said this further cements George W. Bush as one of my favorite presidents.
Seriously, I mean who throws a shoe? I swear, you fight like a woman!
Take this over to Politicstoid.
Oh and GWBush is a ninja, confirmed! What would of made that full of win is if he had caught the shoe and thrown it back.
I too was very impressed by the dodging. As for the rest of the post, it's not like nobody ever stood up to Saddam before, it's just that he wasn't as unpopular at home as he was abroad (sounds familiar). Plus people will always be angrier at foreign usurpers than at domestic tyrants, even if they do a lot of the same crap.
*Looks around*
What, no Mr. Sadistic in here? Alright, I'll take care of this in his absence:
USA! USA! USA!
I think it's well documented on such news programs as Robot Chicken that GWBush is a jedi. Not a ninja.
What Blehman said. He actually made the shoe curve around him; there was no ducking.
Bush has mad skillz.
Skillz that killz, in fact.
just because the iraqi dudes situation has changed doesn't mean he should love bush all of a sudden. maybe you should consider that the people of iraq perhaps would have been happier to see saddam outed in a less violent and bloody manner. maybe the shoe throwers parents were killed by an american guided missile blowing up their wedding or perhaps their family home? who knows?
IMO bush deserves to have shoes thrown at him. i don't care who throws them, or why, i only hope the next pitcher is more accurate.
YOu really need to look at the situation from this man's point of view.Saddam was a terrible dictator, true. But going into Iraq upset the stability of the country, and completely toppled its infrastructure. That country fell apart. And the casualties in civilians, and the civil war that followed became so much worse than life after Hussein for these people.Sure, things do have the potential to get better. But if your loved ones were put into a dangerous situation or even killed when you were living under a despot's radar with no immediate danger, I'm sure that your position would change.
I'm more impressed at Bush's ducking skills
Yeah, sorry I dropped on the ball on this one. Anyway, I'm here now so:
USA! USA! USA! USA!
He'll probably move to a foreign country when he leaves office. (( Saftey Issues ))
That or Norad in the Rockies.
Just as an aside...It wasn't my intent to say he (the shoe dude) is or is not living a better life, and that the presence of American troops in Iraq is in any way a good, or a bad thing...My point about his shoe chucking was that he had the "balls" to stand up to Bush, but where was his descent when Saddam was there? There were few cases of defiance under his watch, and even fewer public displays...
And yes, he is shockingly quick with the ducking...Maybe he has been practicing...After all, he's been dodging things for the last 7 years...
I know this is out of place on here, but I figure I get to go way off topic once a month...So here it was...
AMERICA FUCK YEAH!
caps mean its important
@Funky Goodness
Do said skills pay the bills?
Well, he is free now. He can show disrespect for anyone.
You show disrespect for him, and saddam, cause you are free. And neither can reach you.
Let's see you throw a shoe at that son of a bitch Hussein.
all this guy probably got was a slap on the wrist
also games
@RAB...I had MSNBC on earlier, and they said that the shoe guy got the ever loving fuck knocked out of him...But he wasn't removed by the Secret Service, he was actually pulled out of the room by other reporters. I'm sure the SS guys got thier licks in, but it appears as though Iraqi security knocked him around. Although I would venture to guess that might be a bit of a false statement...
He was taken in by the Iraqi military then handed over to US custody where he still remains. There are protests continuing for his release. I don't understand the measures. They seem quite extreme. If I threw a shoe at somebody they'd get laughed at by an officer. At any rate, even if assault charges were filed against me, I wouldn't spend more than a day in jail before I got released. So, what kind of freedom have those folks gained? Certainly not an American brand of freedom.
LOL haxan, sounds EXACTLY like the american brand of freedom to me.
@Haxan...He threw something at a head of state. That's a felony offense here in the States, as it is a big crime (from what I've read) in Iraq. No offense to you, but if I threw a show at you it wouldn't be a big deal....If I did what that guy did, I'd be in jail. If it was any other head of state, it would, and should be the same way.
