I feel it is my duty to spread the word, so forgive me for not linking this with anything remotely connected to a video game. I feel the need to spread the word about one of the most creative, devilishly written and supremely well acted shows in the past 10 years (at least). The show? Dexter. He isn't your everyday super hero, but what he lacks in super powers he makes up for in super psychotic.
The second season is finishing up its run on Showtime, and I happened to see an ad for it on CBS. I gobbled up the first season when I found it last year, and I flipped when I found out they were going to continue with the series.
It isn't the everyday bullshit crime drama...it's about a serial killer, and his mind, how he sees the world, and how the world sees him. Michael C Hall (David Fisher from HBOs Six Feet Under ) plays the main character, Dexter. The guy is a fantastic actor, and he really brings humanity and madness to the part.
I thought it would be a bit on the sucktastic side when I watched the first episode. I mean, how many good shows about twisted psychotics could there be? At least 1.
I don't know anyone else that has even heard of the show, let alone watches it. So consider this a fans plea for support, and spreading the word about how truely great the series is. The first season was great, and I'm about to begin season 2.
So if there is anyone who digs the sadistic, the gut wrenching world of a masochist....or just a fucking fantastic tale expertly woven into a world so well crafted it is creepy...I implore you to watch it, and support it.
You can thank me later, but for now, go and enjoy....either get Showtime or a torrent program.

Also, Dexter is one of the rare shows (and this goes for movies as well) where I think the show is FAR better than the books. The books aren't bad, but the show is just leaps and bounds above them.
I'm glad to see there are more people out there who really dig the show...
As for the books, I just noticed that in the opening credits for S02 Ep01...I may have to stop at a Barnes and Noble.
