I got my new issue of GI today, and looked through it quickly. I saw that Assassins Creed was in the reviews section, and since I had already seen it reviewed last year, I wondered what it was. Well, it was the "Special Edition" that is released for PCs...I don't much care for using my PC to game, but I was curious because I saw the caption as "SLIGHTLY BIGGER, QUESTIONABLY BETTER". I went on to read this...

Now, AC doesn't support DLC, as seen here...

I was curious why people who bought the game initially weren't going to be treated to the new investigative mission types, and I found a few things. Most notably...

It sucks, because Ubi is one of my favorite developers. I just don't get how they couldn't (or won't) give people like me who supported the game, and their company for a long time a little love. I'd pay 5 bucks for some mission types....It isn't like I am expecting them to hand it out. I mean, at this point, microtransactions are raping my wallet.

Hmm good points. AC was a good rental, but if I were to buy one I guess I would lean towards PC now.

Hwy Rifter...From what I've read (which is the GI review) you're going to need a thumper of a rig to run the game smoothly and the way it should which I think is the biggest drawback (aside from the control translation that was apparently not good).

I'm more annoyed by the fact that I still have AC, and if I was offered some nice investigation mission change ups, I'd gladly pay...But it seems like a big F U by Ubi.

I find Assassin's Creed more repetative than minesweeper, and at least minesweeper changes every time you play it (although the plot sucks...). HOWEVER, as tempted as i WOULD be to pay for DLC IF it was to become available, I wouldn't be able to help but think even that would become repetative.

I think Assassin's Creed achieved more for its originality, and from setting a new benchmark in graphic effects and interactive environments (i.e. being able to climb practically anything you set your eyes on)than it ever did for its actual gameplay.

Yeah, I really couldn't care less about the game anymore and less about DLC for it. If the game hadn't been so repetitive, then I might be as irritated as you but, then again, I probably wouldn't need what would essentially be a "fun" patch either.

Meh. I see where you're coming from, but I don't think that adding a couple new mission types would help that much. They would get repetitive quickly, too. There are repetition flaws deeply planted in that game, from the cities, to the cutscenes, to the story and pacing of the game itself. It's a living breathing city, but there are no choices to be made, no interactions to be had other than killing people and murdering guards. Not saying that's not fun, but it's not just the mission types that made this one repetitive.
