Alright, basic intro:

I was born in 1984, which means I grew up just a tad late to be an Atari front runner (still got one and played the shit outta it) but I did get to grow up with Nintendo. I've bought every Nintendo console on release day (Wii included, 32 hours outside of Wal-mart).

I'm a "hardcore gamer" but I detest the term and I won't fit into any damn mold! I LOVE retro games, and I think 90% of the shit on the game market right now isn't worth the time or money I'd have to spend to burn those shitty studios that make these games to the ground.

I hate the fact that the FPS genre has become so flooded it's hard to find anything good and not WWII, and I think the last good FPS was Half-life 2 (HL2+Source+Bioshock WTF PWN ALL).

Nintendo - NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, N64, Game Boy Color, GB Advance (+SP), Virtual Boy (fun ass system imo), Gamecube, GB Micro (was a gift, I prolly wouldn't have bought one), DS, DS Lite, Wii.

Sony - Playstation, Playstation 2 (3 of em so far), PSone. Gonna buy a PS3 only if it's under $300, and a PSP when it's cheaper.

M$ - Winblows 3.1 up to Vista Ultimate (I bit the bullet and got Vista when I built my latest PC), Xbox. Gonna buy a 360 when the revamped 65nm version is down under $300.

Today has been a stellar day... I woke up at 7am, drove to Wal-Mart, drove to Target, drove home, drove 40 miles to the mall, all to get Metroid Prime 3, and I came back empty handed... and tomorrow I get to do it all again! Read on... 7:00 AM - 4 Hours To Realization So, my day started off with my alarm going off (my alarm could seriously wake the dead) and fell out of my bed... literally. Normally this early in the morning I'm just starting to get some real sleep after staying up till three or four. After falling out of bed, I landed on tile, very hard tile, which woke me from my morning grogginess and replaced it with a concussion. After downing two glasses of energy drink mix (aka sugar and caffeine powder + water) I finally woke up. My search for Metroid Prime 3 had begun! 8:00 AM - 3 Hours To Realization I hopped in the shower, threw on some crap clothes and a hat (I got a white boy afro going, getting it sheared off Wed.) and hopped in my car. I sped over to Wal-Mart (10 mins away) and searched all over the one Wii cabinet and found...nothing! I ditched Wal-mart and hit up Target just across the street, searched all over and... nothing! Dejected and saddened, I drove home to rethink my plan. 9:00AM - 2 Hours To Realization I got home and decided that I immediately needed to find another source since both Wal-mart and Target were a no go. As pressing as the need to get Metroid 3 was, my need for food came first, so I nuked some microwave french fries for breakfast (+ more energy drinks) I proceeded to power on my PC and posted a blog entry asking for advice on my dilemma, and waited for some replies while eating said french fries (Mmmm...). 9:30AM - 1.5 Hours To Realization After reading a few replies and hyping myself up more by watching all of the Metroid videos, I came to the decision that Metroid 3 was worth the 30 mile drive to the mall, and one of the stores had to have a copy. I hopped in the car (rolled “something” up for the trip... heh) and headed on a nice drive to the mall. What I THOUGHT would be a nice drive turned into 10 miles of construction just to get out of my stupid little town. 10:15AM - 45 Minutes To Realization After almost an hour, I completed the trip that should have taken 20 minutes (I normally speed... alot). Arriving at the mall, I parked right in the JC Penny in the employee parking which is right by the nearest door to EB (they don't have car tags, and security doesn't check) and went strait to EB (I've done this many times before for releases). Since they just opened, only the manager was there. Finally my adventure to find Metroid Prime 3 was over, right? No, the manager told me his shipment wasn't coming in till tomorrow... [stewie voice]BLAST![/stewie voice] 10:50AM - 10 Minutes To Realization I get home, turn on my baby (PC) and plop in my custom-made by me computer chair (I took a RV seat and mounted it to rollers, it's teh uber-chair). I quickly went to check to the release date... IGN, says today (and gave it a 9.5); Destructoid, says today; Gamespot, says today... What the hell is going on?! 11:00AM - OMG WTF.... Realization All it took was a quick look over at the Metroid 3 Wikipedia page to clear things up. Metroid Prime 3 is SHIPPING TODAY... and shelving tomorrow. Why in the hell did all these sites set the release day as today then?! In the end it's just like every other shipment, Monday ship, Tuesday release... I woke up at 7AM for NO REASON... DAMN YOU GAMING SITES! Oh no... that means I gotta do this all again tomorrow... I'm gonna go play BioShock... and cry
