VGdrum Update: Mega Man X Drum Medley!!!
NukaCola | 3:15 PM on 08.04.2009 8 comments

Mega Man X for the SNES, besides being one of my favorite childhood memories and my favorite 2D action side-scroller of all time, has some really awesome, rockin' music. Like Breath of Fire II, I wanted to cover Mega Man X's music as soon as I took up drums. And now, with a tear in my eye (not really), I present to you, the Mega Man X Medley:

VGdrum - Mega Man X Medley Part 1/2

VGdrum - Mega Man X Medley Part 2/2

Yep, that's right. Youtube couldn't handle more than ten minutes of awesome at one time, so I had to split it in two.

Now for some copy-pasta:

*Make sure Annotations are turned on!!!*

Hey Again! Another medley for you all. This one's another one I've been meaning to do ever since I started this project. Mega Man X remains one of my favorite 2D action side-scrollers, and it has incredible music to boot! Unfortunately I couldn't put everything in one go thanks to Youtube's 10-minute limit. So be sure to catch Part 2 as well! And sorry if I didn't cover one of your favorite MMX themes, I can't cover EVERYTHING ya know. I love the other stage themes just as much.

Music Covered:

Title
Opening Stage
Stage Select 1
Stage Start
Storm Eagleed (Storm Eagle) Stage
Burnin' Noumander (Flame Mammoth) Stage
Spark Mandriller (Spark Mandrill) Stage
Armor Armarge (Armored Armadillo) Stage
Boss 1
Boss 2
Stage Clear

Music Composed by Setsuo Yamamoto, Makoto Tomozawa, Yuki Iwai, Yuko Takehara, & Toshihiko Horiyama

Mega Man X/Rockman X was developed and published by Capcom.

Also, once you're done watching, check out Cezar Batistão's Mega Man X Guitar Covers. He's insane: http://www.youtube.com/user/cezarbatistao

My next cover will be yet another Medley: Final Fantasy! Unfortunately, as much as I want to do Secret of Mana's Boss Music, I simply can't get the syncing down properly when editing the video of my performance on Windows Movie Maker. I'll have to put that one on the backburner for now, maybe even practice the song more before I decide to tackle a recording of it again.

VGdrum Rundown Time!

VGdrum - Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Battle 1 Drums

VGdrum - Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Battle 2 Drums

VGdrum - Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Battle 3: Dark King Drums

VGdrum - Breath of Fire Beginning of Battle

VGdrum - Breath of Fire Battling Drums

VGdrum - Breath of Fire II Cross Counter Drums

VGdrum - Final Fantasy 5 V Battle at the Big Bridge

Oh I saw wut u wer doin at the end of the first video. The breakdown in Spark Mandrill was pretty badass. No Sigma Stage 1 though?

Hope you get SoM boss music worked out sometime, that'd be nuts.

Sigma Stage 1 is awesome but I decided not to do any of those. Plus the NESkimos have done a cover of Sigma Stage 1, which is pretty bitchin'.

And yeah, I hope I can do something about Secret of Mana's Boss music too. I'll have to mic my bass drum for it, because that's where most of the awesomeness of the drumming comes from :D

Congrats on getting Topsauce in today's Cblog Recaps!

Yes, I'm biased because I fucking love anything related to MMX music, but this stuff is seriously awesome work.
