So recently I got Bioshock, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Resistance for PS3, as I needed something keep me busy until Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition. I started Bioshock first, and even though everything was spoiled for me in the past few years I'm loving it so far.
I'm probably gonna post the follow-up to my "Brown Sugar" article sometime over the weekend, by popular demand... other than that, college starts back up on Tuesday, so I'll be kept busy with 12 credit hours.
Anyway, would anyone be interested in making a cblog header for me? I have no Photoshop or GIMP skills whatsoever, and all I want is something relatively simple to break up the sparse monotony of my page.

Absolutely. I need to break in my new copy of CS4, so I've been looking for simple project like this. Oh Adobe higher education discount, I do love you so. Also, good luck on getting back to college. I'm only just starting college this coming week, so I'll probably be up to my neck in coursework too pretty soon.
Anyway, just let me know what you want on the header, and I'll send you a proof of concept as soon as I can.
Awesome. It can have the same dimensions as yours... and all I really want for sure is this off to the left side. Obviously you'd need to resize it, but that's cool. As for the rest of it... doesn't matter. Any simple field ambiance will do, be it stars, ripples, etc. Slap "Novakaine" on it, and give yourself some credit by putting your watermark on the lower right corner, and that'd be fantastic.
Unfortunately, that picture suits banners very poorly. It's low-res and overcropped. I've got about three different options. 1) I could redraw the image, which will take hours. 2) I could try to find the original screencap, which will also take hours, or 3) I could use a render like this one and just redraw the Kanji characters over the new image. The rest of it is color balancing and brushwork, really. I just prefer to work with clean images since redrawing character lineart and backgrounds takes forever.
I'll try to find some renders for you, but they're probably super rare since everyone uses the furry version the character, and I like him with his helmet.
Tell you what... if this, this, or ]this still aren't up to snuff for banners, then don't worry about it and you can just make something like an ambiance field. =)
Alright, got my first prototype done. It's fairly rough, so if you want anything changed or edited, just let me know. Also, the katakana above your name says "procaine" in Japanese, sort of. Procaine is only marketed as Novocain in the United States and a few other western countries, so there is no Japanese word meaning Novocaine.

To be completely honest I'll take it as-is, unless your artistic streak wants to refine it. When I was younger I was a sculptor, so I know how you can always feel you can do better. I think it's epic, though.
Thanks. I may work on it some more when I get the chance, but if you're happy with it I'm willing to call it finished. If I do work on it, I'll send you a message on the forums.
