Mega Man 9 on WiiWare!

Through some Internet Matlockery, it would appear Mega Man 9 will be coming to WiiWare, as it has an article in the upcoming Nintendo Power issue. Credit to Rockman Perfect Memories for my source.

No word on whether it's exclusive or not, so we'll just have to see how things pan out. However, the Robot Masters have been named, and among them is a first for the series: A female Robot Master, Splash Woman.

The game looks as old-school as possible, using 8-bit sprites for its presentation; and no doubt the audio will be old-school MIDIs as well. In hindsight, we probably should have seen this coming what with the retro mode in Mega Man ZX Advent.

The game is being made by Inti Creates, the makers of the superb Mega Man Zero titles (in my opinion, the finest in the franchise) and the not-as-good but still solid ZX games, so if you're worrying Capcom was going to farm this out to another publisher since it's a downloadable game you need not worry. Inti is a damned good studio and should once again show their prowess at making Mega Man games.

I'm so excited for this you don't even know. Love the MegaMan. Just picked up Starforce 2 the other day actually, and I don't care what anyone says that and the Battle Network series is awesome.

Also, the Zero games were all pretty good, and the ZX series is alright too. Good to see Capcom isn't just half-assing this just because it'll be a downloadable game.

also, you should add the pics from the rockman site. I kinda hoped the game would look like 8 or at least 7. Although I love the old megamans, It's weird to see it go back to like the days of 3 or 4.

An exclusive on WiiWare? Haha. I heard it's going to be XBLA and PSN only. Sorry bud.

OK, after looking at the other post about this with the scans I will concede that it will be on WiiWare. But it will definitely be on PSN and XBLA too.

No, this is all wrong. It should have beatuiful HD graphics. "Old school" 8-bit graphics aren't pretty.
