Resi 5 in Doubt for PC

Resident Evil 5 might not be happening for the PC because of rampant piracy. Here's the story from IGN:

IGN: Finally [taking into account the rumors], our readers want to know, is Resident Evil 5 coming to the PC?

Svensson: I know that Inafune-san and I are both huge proponents of the PC platform and Capcom is an active participant in the PCGA. We do believe in the future of the platform and that contrary to what retail data shows, it is growing. Our rosy prognostications aside, somewhere the P&Ls of Capcom Japan's outings on the platform are going to come up and they are likely to have a bearing on the decision making process for future titles. That's my longwinded way of saying "stay tuned because it's not clear yet"."

So the big question is, does anyone care?

Maybe if they'd try offering a competent version over modern PC outlets (i.e. not retail boxed) it'd do better. Get it highlighted on Steam for a weekend and I guarantee it'll do great. They actually had Lost Planet on Steam, but it was overpriced and buggy with no support. I actually have a legit copy of that, but it refuses to even start.

If theyre gonna do a shit port like re4 (no mouse support - which would be perfect for re games) then i dont care.

Resi has never had a good PC port. The only decent PC port that Capcom has EVER done with DMC 4. They'd have to want it to be there then just "add it in".

If it'd be a shit port like RE4, released months after consoles and have no digital distribution method they may as well keep it anywya instead of crying like babies because it sold poorly due to pirates.
