About
I'm 23 and aside from games I love music and film. I'm a strong believer in Jesus and I try as hard as humanly possible not to judge anyone for their beliefs. I've been married to my beautiful wife for three years now she's also my best friend and I love her more than anything.

I've been working in Asia with my wife for the past few years, I've done some church work, music, and just finished working with a cultural exchange performing arts company in East Asia for the past 16 months. Living overseas(from America) has been an awesome experience.

My favorite games are Halo 2, Left 4 Dead, River City Ransom, Guardian Heroes, Kessen 2, Dynasty Warriors 2, Final Fantasy VIII and Guitar Hero. I have the most phone playing with my friends on LIVE, or organizing LAN parties in New England with friends and old co-workers. I'm also a drummer, and I love to play/listen to metal. My favorite band is Dream Theater.

I'm currently living in Korea, just hanging out while my wife's green Card to the States processes.

Sometime in the past few weeks they've begun airing Tekken 6 tournaments on MBC Game, one of Korea's largest video game channels. Taking a break from it's usual Starcraft marathon, MCB Game has been showing Tekken 6 Crash battles more than anything else the last several days. Small teams of 4 face off against each other 1v1 at a time (obviously) I can't find any information about prizes in English, but I'm guessing everyone competing at least gets to hold onto the cool Tekken 6 jackets they all are wearing....and a photo with the booth babe looking models to show off to their geeky friends at their local PC Room.

I have not seen Tekken 6 in any arcades around where I live, though I live outside of Seoul. My wife who's Korean tells me that Tekken is the most popular fighter in Korea (Likely because of Korean characters like Hwoarang), which explains why SFIV isn't getting any air time on TV. I personally can't get into the silly looking characters in Tekken. Regardless, every time I play SFIV on XBL some Korean mops the floor with me.

Yea it's always like this:

Korea = Tekken
Jap = SF/Virtua Fighter/Doujin Fighters
America = MvC2, SF, Tekken, Smash Bros.

I could be missing some but i'm just going off what the popularity are in said regions.
Hwoarang is actually a pretty cool character, and even though I love the tekken series, I kinda doubt 6 is better than SF4. But I haven't played either, so who knows.
This is the first time I've heard that I'm obligated to play this game. I know I missed out on Starcraft, but this will break my mothers heart...
HOLY JESUS LOOK AT THOSE MACHINES!

I live in korea and i play Tekken 6 at IPARK, the floor abov the movie theater.

I think I finally have the upper hand against him using Bob, bob is such a fucking powerhouse.
Oh, and in the above post, "him" is my friend, he really got me into competitive tekken play :P
Thats awesome. I'm blown away that anyone can think SFIV characters are any less ridiculous than Tekken's, but whatever.
@ Paulink
Cool dude I'm in Gwangju...haven't found it in any arcades here but they all kinda suck :( That rules that it's in Seoul...need to make the 3 1/2 hour bus trip sometime

@Dementor
I kinda agree...I wouldn't have minded a new haircut for Guile in SFIV...but a panda bear, super tall blond hair dude, and leopard-face-man are way cheesier than anything in the Street Fighter universe.
@ Noah and Demtor
Uh yea, I would have to say that the fucking panda bear takes the cake.

Every time I see a competitive Tekken vid like the one you posted, I just cringe at the silly juggle combos that they pull off. I mean at least make it look impressive like MvsC2. And it always bothered me how kicking someone on the ground is a legitimate strategy in Tekken. Too bad T6 hasn't made any attempt to evolve the series at all.
MvC2 isn't impressive, it's silly broken game that the american hardcore crowd considers a good game.

yet 1 combo/juggle in Tekken and everyone bitches. and people wonder why no one outside of America really cares about MvC2.
Shin, people bitch because the juggle combos in Tekken seem out of place. At least in the SF vs. series games (and IV to an extent), the juggles look intentional. It doesn't seem right when your character is perpetually suspended in midair because he is being kicked in the ankles.

Tekken seems to have an ongoing identity crisis in the fighting game genre. It can't decide whether it wants to be realistic or silly, reward button mashing or reward precise technical skills. Namco needs to step it up.
Haha, okay. Fair enough.
Pardon me, Shin. I'm from the U.K and I love MvsC2. Its one of Capcom's finest games, IMO.

Watching that video of Tekken 6, doesn't make me want to run out and buy it. Nothing new enough to entice me, and it shows Namco need to overhaul this series.

Juggling always made Tekken a No.2 game, and with no chance of recovery from that makes it a frustrating play.

Can't wait til MvsC2 hits Live/PSN.
