Well, this is my first blog on Destructoid. Honestly, I had no idea what to blog about today, so I just wrote a list of my favorite NES games of all time. So, here ya go.

NINTENDAWG'S TOP 10 FAVORITE NES GAMES OF ALL TIME

#10 Tetris



Number 10 on my list is Tetris. Almost everybody has played this game before, I mean, who hasn't heard of Tetris? This game is made out plain and simple, puzzle blocks drop, and you line them up with the same colours to break them so that you have more room for more blocks. Sounds easy enough, until the blocks fall faster. Then you're like "ohshat" when you lose, slap yourself in the face, and force yourself to try again. You keep on playing for a very long time until you realize that the game just drags on and on and on. It's worth it though for the catchy music that everyone knows and loves.

#9 Contra



Who likes to run? Who likes guns? Who likes to run with guns? Number 9 on the list is Contra. Not only do you get to shoot the hell out of a bunch of terrorists, but the gun comes along with unlimited ammunition so you don't have to reload everytime you pop a few caps into your enemies heads. In the end you get to blow the brains out of a bunch of ugly-ass aliens too. What's there to hate about that?

#8 River City Ransom



"BITCH GIMME MAH $2.50!" Number 8 is River City Ransom. One day you're cruising down the street and the next day you feel like beating the hell out of guy with a baseball bat. This game was, and still, is pure win. It's like Grand Theft Auto for the NES. To think you had to kill so many people just to get some dude's girl. Whatever happened to bros before hoes?

#7 Kirby's Adventure



I don't think that there's ever been a 2D Kirby game that didn't kick ass. Kirby's Adventure is number 7 on my list. It just goes to show what the NES was capable of doing. Of course, it wasn't better than the SNES Kirby games, but it was still one of the best titles for the NES regardless. A pink puff ball who has an eating disorder, and sucks up everyone who crosses his path, not to mention the fact that he becomes whatever he sucks in. I guess you are what you eat.


#6 Metroid



The debut of one of the hottest video game characters alive, Samus, all started with number 6 on the list, Metroid. You get to run and shoot a bunch of alien creatures, as well as jump around as a small little ball-thing. You beat the game and think you're so bad-ass, and then you realize that the whole time, Samus was a chick. Then you're like "lol". Yeah...

Seriously though, I bet you at least 50 guys wanked after seeing her ending sprite. "Ohhh Samus baby, I love your pixelated bewbies!!"


#5 Final Fantasy



Final Fantasy is an attention whore. But I still love it. Why do I love it? I don't even know. I can barely finish a whole Final Fantasy game, yet I still buy all of It's sequels. This one however, opened up new doors into the world of gaming. RPGs got big with the start of Final Fantasy. Plus it has the Black Mage, my favorite FF character who was ever created. None of the characters from the first FF needed a real name. That's how bad-ass they were. "zomg it's that black dood with tha magic, run!" One of my favorite RPGs to date, that's why It's number 5 on my list.

#4 The Legend of Zelda



Hurray for a feminine looking elfish guy with a green dress on! Err, I mean, tunic. Seriously though, Link is one of the most well known characters that Nintendo has ever created. You get to go around with a sword, slash monsters to bits, and save a princess from a huge ugly pig. A blue one. A games gotta' be good if it has a blue pig. In the end you have to collect a bunch of pieces for the Triforce, and save the land of Hyrule. Yay. The Legend of Zelda all started with this game, and so, It's number four on my list.


#3 Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse



Time for some enemies to get their asses whipped, literally. Castlevania 3: Dracula's curse, is number 3 on my list. I always liked vampires, but I have to say, running through a bunch of levels kickin' the crap out of them was pretty damn fun. I think that this was the best Castlevania game to come out of the NES , and it just happens to be one of my favorites. The setting of the game is just awesome, horror flicks have always been my favorite.

#2 Mega Man 2



Mega Man is one of the best video game series of all time. Regardless of the retarded box-art for most of the classic games, he still came out on top. Mega Man 2 however, is my favorite classic Mega Man game for the NES. It was a big thing for the NES in those days. For the first time you could choose which bosses you wanted to fight, and everything had a weakness. The levels were colourful and had some of the most unique creatures to ever step foot on a console. After this, Mega Man just continued to grow, but nothing can compare to this game in particular. Mega Man 2 is number 2 on my list.

#1 Super Mario Bros. 3



It's time for number 1 but I'm sure you all could have guessed what it was. The best game for the NES in my opinion is Super Mario Bros. 3. What other game could take the title of number one? Like come on. It's one of the best Super Mario games of all time. You get to be a freaking racoon! Or a frog. Yes, a frog. Holy freakin' shat, and a statue. Also, not only do you get to kick Bowser's ass for the 9th time, you also get to beat the hell out of his children too. You can make his children cry in ruthless pain as you smash their wands over their asses and make them squeal for Nintendo to save them. "WHY DID YOU CREATE US?!" Also, this game makes it pretty obvious who Bowser had sex with to make his kids. Mario is pretty stupid, he thinks Bowser kidnaps Peach for nothing.

Lol.

Anyways, this concludes my top 10 NES games of all time. I'll probably do a top 10 SNES list next week. I must say, it was very hard to decide what I should pick, there's much more titles that I could have included, so don't be up my ass about what games should and shouldn't have been on the list, unless you're just giving an opinion.
