It's really, really hard to believe when you think that it's been two years since I posted blog entry #1 here. Who could have even thought that I'd end up where I am today: 600+ posts, features editor for one of Destructoid's sister sites, and someone people actually still paid attention to when he posted stuff. Honestly, I don't even think I would have expected that, but the first two parts of it are definitely true. The third part ... well, maybe that's up to interpretation by the public. Don't want to sound too cocky now. Yes, as some of you might know, I have been here longer than two years, as I didn't blog for my first six months or so. But there will be another time to celebrate that ... like in February. Still, two years of blogging is not an easy task, and the last year has been rough. I'm now working a full-time job and a second job that's turning into the equivalent of a full-time job at times, which means far, far less time to write than I used to have. Some of you might have noticed me writing less lately, and I'm hoping to fix that problem. It's also been keeping me from doing a lot of other things I have wanted to do, like review more games or start up a video series or even to go back to writing more regular features. I miss doing those things, but when you work all day, you don't have much time to do that. Still, the past year's been full of changes for the site, too. I've seen a lot of people come and go, new features added and others disappearing, and a fair share of failblogs alongside quality content. And there's been plenty of site-related stuff I've been a part of: there's been a trip to PAX, a concert where I met an industry legend (who also happened to be in the same bar we were as we were doing karaoke), and in a few weeks, another trip out West to visit everyone that doubles as a reprieve from my full-time imprisonme-ummmm, I mean job. But with all the changes going on, there's one thing that's going to stay the same. I'll still be writing, the community will still be here, and in another 365 days, there will be a 3-year post going up. By then, things may have changed even further: the offices might finally be relocated to San Francisco, half the staff may or may not leave for other endeavors and be replaced by new talent, the site may have 50,000 users by then and Jim Sterling may have stopped being a snarky bastard. Who knows? But I can promise you that as long as you guys and gals are around to read what I write, I'll keep on writing it. I have new ideas for things that, if I can find the time, I will certainly be giving them a shot. In closing, all I have to really say is this: Thanks to everyone who's been supportive of me the past two years. I hope you'll continue doing so in the future, and I hope I can continue to write things that interest you, as well. :) I love all of you.* *Except wardrox. You can just go die in a fire, you emo Brit.** **Okay, I was just kidding about that. I love you, too, bro. :D

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

I was lurking, reading the "news" off and on since ol' March of '07 though.
Good times here. Good times.
High five Nihon! Here is to a few more years eh?
Seriously though, it's been great having you around Nihon, even if I only read your articles as an excuse to stare at your Gallery of Hotness. =P
