Over at Kotaku's sister car blog,
Jalopnik, they've got some news on Forza Motorsport 3. Why they put the news there, I don't know. Maybe Crecente is a racing game-hater. For his sake, I hope he's not.
The article talks about new info that Turn 10 has announced concerning Forza 3, which includes an official partial car list and the first officially confirmed track, the Circuit de la Sarthe in France, home to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Consider the announcement of this intentional because the 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans just finished up this weekend, with one of the announced cars - the Peugeot Sport 908 - having actually been the race winner.
Of course, they fail miserably in their write up, stating "Previously the only way you could act out your French endurance dreams was by going to the Playstation-based series, Gran Turismo" and completely negelcting the fact that the 24 Hours of Le Mans was the season-ending race in Codemaster's GRID. Or that Sega and Konami made arcade games based on the race in the 1980s. Or that there are several PC games with the track. Or that Gran Turismo 4 was the only game in the series that even allowed you to race on the Circuit de la Sarthe.
But I digress. That's just a small issue. What's more important is that they've announced the Circuit de la Sarthe is in the game and gave us a list of cars as well. It's just a partial list and really doesn't have any surprises ... well, except for one that I've highlighted in the list below:

So there you have it. A partial list of cars that will be in Forza 3, many of them returning and one big surprise: the inclusion of the electric-powered Tesla Roadster in the game. Man, can October come quicker? Please?
I don't know. After finally spending some quality time with GRID, it's kinda hard to go back to a series like GT or Forza.
Oh, and there was also Test Drive: Le Mans for the Dreamcast, and various consoles. So double fail for them.
I own forza 2, and I gotta say I couldn't get into it. I dunno perhaps it was a little too realistic for me, it just didn't feel fast and it was WAY too easy to fuck up from failing to brake into corner correctly. But that's just me, eeeehhhhhhhh
It's pretty obvious that Laguna Seca will be confirmed for this. As well as Nurburgring.
@JLanphear: Other tracks already fall under that category, too: Road Atlanta and Suzuka, for example.
Forza 3 has V-tech, yo.
Also, it's kickin' in.
Wait...so in endurance races...if the Tesla is out of juice what happens? It's not like you can instantly charge it.
I'm surprised the Nissan GTR hasn't been shown or mentioned. I would love that car in Forza.
Alex: I had the exact same thought tonight. How are pit stops going to work with it?

Or the official Le Mans 24 Hours game released several years ago.
I just recently got Forza 2 for like 12 bucks at gamestop and i am loving the game. I only previously played the demo but it is a very well polished game. I am seriously looking into getting the 3rd one!
Zzzzz...
