About Me

Oh, hi there. Didn’t see you enter. Anyways, welcome to my humble little blog. For those of you not familiar with who I am, the name’s Brian. I’m 24 years old and hail from Findlay, Ohio. I work at the local newspaper here as a copy editor, putting my four long years of college to actual use. Kind of. I think.

For those of you who might recognize me from elsewhere, I work as Assistant Gaming Editor over at Blogcritics Gaming and as Features Editor over at Tomopop. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it because I get to do a lot of cool shit with a lot of cool people.

I've been gaming since the relatively young age of around 3 and I've played plenty of games, both good and bad. I'm continuously expanding my gaming collection, which has become more of an archive in recent years as I'm focusing on collecting older, less well-known titles. You'd honestly be surprised on what people are missing out on in bargain bins...

Other than gaming, I love anime, manga, sports, movies, TV, and a whole lot more. I also happen to have something of a legendary love for Cammy, to the point that I am the site's unofficial official Cammy fanboy. And yes, I do play as her in Street Fighter and do so quite well, too.

Also, I am Chad Concelmo's B.F.F., my prize for coming in first in The Great Retro Quiz .18 - ActRaiser. Accept no substitutes. Not even Aerox.

Great Tiger, Piston Honda apparently confirmed for Punch Out!!
Brian Szabelski | 12:27 PM on 05.03.2009 7 comments

If GoNintendo is to be believed and they've got their sources right, then we've pretty much filled out the entire Punch Out!! roster with the revelation of two new boxers. Well, maybe the revelation of one and the confirmation of another, because 1up accidentally hinted at Piston Honda's existence in the game during their last podcast. Joining the TKO from Tokyo will be none other than the turbaned magician himself, Great Tiger.

Here's another picture of Great Tiger in game with his notorious Mirage Dance:

With these revelations, that leaves three boxers to fill out the Punch Out!! roster. I can tell you with almost 100% certainty those three are Bald Bull, Mr. Sandman and Super Macho Man, the only three missing that have been in both previous Punch Out!! titles. Super Macho Man was leaked in the ESRB description, and not having both Bald Bull and Mr. Sandman would be a huge mistake on Nintendo's part.

The burly Bear Hugger will apparently be the only Super Punch Out!! original fighter to make the cut, at least for this game. I would have rather seen a character like Dragon Chan or Narcis Prince make the cut instead of what amounts to a different version of King Hippo. Your thoughts now that we pretty much have the full roster?

Agh shit I still can't beat Great Tiger on the NES game, fucking bastard.

Also i still think 13 fighters are way too few although it's a good number. Unless they have some secret ones for mmultiplayer? Ah who knows

I can not wait for this game!
Been playing the hell outta Punch Out!! and Super Punch Out!!.
It's very cool seeing all of these familiar faces, but let's hope the game has a lot of new ones!

Also i think its a weird thing the game only features one newcomer... that unless the champion is new too.

... Glass Joe's revenge!?

Hm. Two new fighters that are exactly the same as the NES version.

C'mon Nintendo!

It's being done by one of nintendos full third party studios if i'm not mistaken (next level i believe)so there may not be too much handholding involved, considering they did a really great job with strikers i'll put my faith in them.
