I have to hand it to our unofficial IRC community -- they're a tight group. Unofficial or not its about time we integrated live chat into the site so a convenient IRC app is now embedded on the community area. This chat area is not moderated whatsoever by Destructoid staff, but instead have community-appointed operators. As the disclaimer on the bottom of the page says: use at your own risk, hope you enjoy rape, etc. http://www.destructoid.com/elephant/irc.phtml To login just click on this page and it should put you right in; no additional login necessary. The app might have trouble with some special characters or spaces in names. Please report any bugs or requests in the comments below. You can also click on the maximize button and take it to go in a pop-up window while you surf.

For those newbies to IRC, Professor Pew wrote up an amazing guide (that I helped with!) that can be found here. Some of it addresses setting up an independent client from the one Niero just made, if you swing that way, but it's filled with a lot of important things in general - tips and tricks, if you will. We'll have to update it soon now that there's IRC embedded into Dtoid. :D
And I think I'm going to have to add some old-time IRCartel members as new ops and half-ops...
