A little overdue housekeeping! We're changing the way Dtoid's avatar system works tonight by importing a copy of your avatar to our server, resizing 2 different sizes of it (a big one and a small one) to increase site speed (so we're not pinging 25 different web hosts when we show your blogs). We're saving a larger icons (animated GIF is ok) which will eventually appear on your sidebar and a tiny static JPG 32px one that will appear on the sidebar of the home page. We currently squish raw icons right now which is a problem -- when some guy decides to hotlink a hot girl with big tits jumping around as their avatar (thank you!) that's an extra 500-2000k you're downloading even if it looks like a small graphic (no thank you!). So this will fix that and make the site load faster. In the coming days all the weird image toolbars will be translated to real CSS and will display their proper state as well. Lots of little 5 minute fixes add up; just wanted to let you know we're picking them off one by one as best we can! If there are any problems with your avatars by tomorrow please let me know. Sanks!
