OK, so first of all, I have to say: whatever cooties you guys gave me at PAX are really doing a number of my body. But ... it was totally worth it!
I'm kicking myself in the ass for not hugging/kissing each and every one of you guys -- the amount of love for Destructoid and for each other at PAX was overwhelming. I could sit here and name names, but there was a ridiculous number of you fools (said with love!) who came out to Seattle. That first night when I walked in to Redwood and realized that only HALF of you were at that bar, my mind was blown. Totally overwhelming -- can I hang out with you guys individually and just chat or burn stuff? (Not Necros while he's sleeping, please.)
To those of you who I didn't get a chance to speak with, fuck ... that sucks. I'm going to be honest, I'm not the most social "HEY! WHAT'S UP! HOW YOU DOING!" guy, despite the fact that part of my job (networking with people) sort of demands it. Like they say about bears, I'm more afraid of you guys than you are of me ... although, I'm not a bear or anything. I wish I had hung out more, but I was sick and tired the entire time I was in Seattle (and it's really catching up to me now). IMMUNE SYSTEM FAIL.
Whatever happens, I'm coming to PAX next year, and I'm going to hit the gym or eat a lot of vitamin c or whatever it takes to not feel like crap the whole time.
Thanks to everyone for the support, being so fucking cool and crazy, and making Destructoid and its community one of the most amazing places to be for gamers ... warts and all. See you next year for sure, but I'd hope it'll be before then. Anyone want to meet Dale, Jim, and I out in Tokyo this year??!
Also, anyone have any antibiotics?
[Update: So, day one of PAX, I hopped on stage and played Rock Band 2 with some community members. I played "Hard" drums on "You Oughta Know." I failed, pretty hard, but because the game's "No Fail" mode was on, the song went on. I swear the drums weren't calibrated or I couldn't hear it or (insert more excuses here).
Fast forward to day two. Harmonix's Sean Baptiste is telling Dyson how BADLY I failed on drums, but redeemed myself on vocals later. Harmonix's John Drake later tells Samit the same thing.
I'm tired of this crap. Attached is an image of me completing the song on Expert drums in my own house, on my own damned drum set, God damn it. That is all.]

I am surprised that you are not bragging about your domination of Dyson in Tetris DS.
It was good to see you again, man.
@power-glove
That goes without saying. Also, updating this post with a relevant picture.
We love you too Nick.
But your arm wrestling skills fail!
:D
Ahahaha...well done, Mr. Chester. I may go play some Rock Band myself...
Lol at the "proof". Awesome to meet you man! Now use your connections to get me in to Rock Band hahaha.....ok I'm serious.
Do you have an address that I can post my kisses to?
Aw come on Nick....I pretty much owned Expert drums on "You Oughta Know" the first time on stage. NO EXCUSES! :P
But yeah, sucks that we didnt get to chat pretty much at all, I also was kinda sick on the first day at PAX (some 24 hour bug or something). Maybe next time! <3
It was so awesome to get to meet you! The picture of you looking pissy with Niero's Samba de Amigo hat on is so amazing. I'm a fan of this picture too. ^-~
It was nice to yell hello to you on the last day I was there. Look forward to more of your tampon inserting panels one day.
Fuck, that's it I am now officially saving up for PAX 09!
Also I still have some antibiotics for that um condition I had involving a midget and a pack of sausages which you can have if you think it'll help ya.
You're not the only one who had trouble with the drums. I've become very used to my Omega Pedal, so going back to a spring-based one is almost a shock. Beyond that, they really needed a rug for those drums, because they were sliding all over the place for me. I kept having to stop playing in order to fix them. Still, at least I didn't fail.
@NECROS:
DIE IN A FIRE. Also, you have video of me playing Guitar Hero with "important" people. DO WANT.
It was great meeting you! :D
Don't worry, we all know you're awesome at Rock Band!
Good shoop! If your Geometry Wars 2 scores and anything like your Rock Band skills, I mean ;)
I kid I kid.
Nick, you are my hero. :)
@NickChester
Necros is fireproof.........its a fact!
Nick, I'll get it to you as soon as I can. I have a bunch of footage on multiple tapes, and my camera is currently not letting me take tapes in and out, so I'll try to get on it ASAP.
OK, now I hate you guys. :D
Pics or it didn't...oh. Ok it happened.
It's ok, I suck at drums too , you don't have to give everyone fake scores :P
Hey Nick, any chance of stuffing me in an extra suitcase for next year? I won't bite, honestly. And I'll supply my own snacks too. Please? ^_^
-Kazoo
This man can take anyone down in vocals. No problem.
Wah! I want to hang out with Nick Chester more! =(
Also, <3.
We love you just as much, Nick. Also, your wife wins mega points for her PAX panel slideshow she did for you. You know, the one with the tampon picture.
Aw I'm sure we met at one point in the Redwood, but I was drunk as hell. Drunk to the point where it took me a very long time to realize later in the night that there were only 10 or so D-toiders left in the bar, and needed power-glove to walk me back to the hotel.
I send my loves though, we can hang out next time some sort of crazy video game thing happens.
You're motherfuckin Nick Chester, you don't have time for this nonsense :P
<3<3<3<3<3
There seem to be some differences in the tetris battle. I swear it was 2-2 when we quit and I showed it to you (Nick), but P-Gloves is saying 3-1.
I say to clear up all of the competitions mayhem that happened at PAX, and our own povs on them, that we should create a Dtoid only competition thing. Like The Wizard, but with more awesome.
We can have Chad say "California" every five seconds through the whole thing.
Honestly, Nick, I was a little disappointed to see you walking around without a plastic guitar or plastic drum kit attached to your person at all times. It's all good though because you gave me a high five at the end of PAX and really, that's all I've ever wanted in life.
@Dyson:
It was 2-2, I will admit to that. I'm going to buy Tetris DS so we can face off online. That will probably happen tomorrow.
@-D-
High fives 4 lyfe!
@KNIVES
my life IS nonsense.
@NihonTiger90:
My wife does rule. Hard.
@Dexter:
Soon.
@kazooaloo:
Sure!
@wexx:
That's messed up!
@cowzilla:
ZING!
@nintendoll:
We did meet. You may or may not have been drunk to the point of now knowing where you were. What happens in PAX stays at PAX?
