A few weeks ago, Nex was trying to get together some E3 predictions from the staff for a feature he was planning on writing up. He requested that each writer on staff chime in with one or two sentences summing up what they expected from E3. The following is what completely derailed the internal e-mail thread, causing Nex to throw up his hands in despair and nix the idea altogether. That said, this is a few weeks old, and I'm certainly too lazy to come up with anything new. So if anything in this prediction is outdated, so be it! "I expect to be thoroughly disappointed if I continue to set my expectations for this years event at the same level I've had for previous years. There is no hype -- we (journalists) are the hype, and in many cases we've already seen the cards Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft are holding. Do I want to be blown away by something so unexpected that I'm going to be raving about how the industry is going to be changed forever? Definitely. But I'm not holding my breath. I fully expect Sony to come to the table with strong first-party titles, including existing IPs and a few quirky, unique titles that will set the PlayStation 3 apart from its competition in the eyes of long-time gamers. People will still bitch about the price point, and Killzone 2 will be shown and it'll look good, but it won't be able to live up to expectations. I expect Microsoft to shoot fireworks out of their ass, tout the largest videogame library (to date), and shout about the epic, big budget games they have to offer, satiating 20 to 30-something males' desire for blowing s**t up with guns and denting car they'll never be able to afford. They'll also mention how XBLA is helping to penetrate the "casual market" (buzz words!) with games like Pac-Man Championship Edition, even though the Xbox 360 is so loud that most people can't hear their wives over it even if they did want to play. Nintendo is not going to shut up about how many DS and Wii units they've pushed (including forty minutes of graphs and charts), and they'll show a bunch of casual and mini-games (that will all sell like hotcakes to people who are not me), followed by teasers of Smash Bros. and Metroid Prime 3 (which I played last year, and am so over already). But yeah, I'm really excited about E3 this year. ;D" So ... what's your opinion?

That's what I want anyway... Who knows what we'll get.
There'll be a bunch of new games. They'll all look really nice. And it'll be 2 years before we can play any of them.
Are you better yet? I miss you.
@ DMV:
Of course they won't announce a price cut.

Keep bringing on the predictions, yo.
How come I'm not on your friends list? Dick.
Because I haven't had a wild adding session yet. I will add you now, baby.
