So Rock Band 2 eh? Mind if we see Rock Band 1?

MTV Games and Harmonix announced today Rock Band 2, which will arrive first on Xbox 360 this September. The companies have confirmed that all peripherals, as well as downloadable content from Rock Band, will be compatible with the sequel.

What the hell? Seriously, you haven't even released Rock Band 1 here in Australia and you're already promoting its sequel? I realise, EA, that you've been spooked by Activision to the point of having to wear your training pants again with Guitar Hero 4, but enough is enough.

This is absolutely disgusting. You've neglected an entire market just because its not the US or Japan. Australian gamers are very disappointed in you EA. You're more than happy to heap endless Madden shit on a market where nearly NO ONE plays or watches the sport. But when you have something we might actually be interested in? NO, you choose to hold that back to your safe markets. Bastards.

If you somehow screw up the release of Spore (I still hate you for taking over Maxis in the first place) then an entire nation will rise up against you.

I think (hope) theyll just go straight to rockband 2 for aus/nz, giving us better instruments. They really have no excuse this time; they may have had shortages for rockband 1, but surely theyll be ready now.

The rest of europe gets 1 on the 24th, so maybe theyll manage to get something here by, i dunno, next year.

We're not gonna get it at all now. That's the feeling I've got in my gut (or maybe it's the chicken I had for dinner). I really feel that with the DLC making a shitload of cash, why are EA even gonna fucking bother? Even if it was released in Aus/NZ it would be massively expensive and no doubt gimped in some way.

Fuck, I'm depressed.

Newsworthy is, and has been a gamer for all of his life. He's owns/owned the following consoles.

AND, now a shiny 17" Macbook Pro. Not really for gaming, sadly :(

Newsworthy is a major Final Fantasy fan-boy. He loves the stuff, and owns a large chunk of the series across several platforms. He's also annoyed he didn't get the Zodiac Spear in FFXII.

He loves to play first person shooters, but also dabbles with an MMORPG called 'Anarchy Online', which is quite a lot of fun, and avoids the usual anti-WoW crowd's jeers as a result. For the record, he's never played WoW.

Newsworthy has aspirations of becoming a voice for gaming in Australia, and aims to eliminate the inequities Australians suffer at the hands of games publishers/designers. Take a look at the Sniper in TF2. That is NOT your typical Australian. The hair is all wrong...

In short, Newsworthy is a 26 year old Australian guy who just plays games, and enjoys it. Add him as a friend! Play him in TF2, and you will have happy feelings!
