The Beginnings -
Christmas 93':
Memories of this day remain fresh to my mind like an unopened box.. And there it was, sitting right in front of me. So close, yet I still had no idea how much power this Snowman decorated box really had. Not to mention how it would dramatically change my life forever. Before peeling the paper back to get that final peak, I had felt a shiver run down my spine. Was this the Barbie Dream House I had always asked for!? As I tore the paper from the back of the box I had begun to realize..I was the luckiest kid ever! It WAS my Barbie Dream House!!!
Just kidding...if you can actually believe it, it was even better! Super Nintendo! Not only was it a super Nintendo, but a super Nintendo with a free game! None other than Mario Paint. I had never spent so much time sitting in front of a Television til' that night. Hours and hours of doodling with not only 8 colors, but 30! Not only one way to erase mistakes, but 9 ways?! I had explored every inch of Mario Paint that night. The mini games, became an addiction. Further pursuing my game collection that year to about 20 games. Including Super Mario World.(DUH!) Soon enough Video games had begun taking over my friendships. Frequently fighting with 'Michelle' as to who would be Peach, when Mario came to save us. Well, life went on, the years flew by, and Michelle and I went our separate ways. Console after console had popped out of oblivion. Each of them added to my collection, and each of them competing for that favorite spot in my heart. Now,here I am, modern day. With the same passion I had for video games as I did when I was a youngster. Still pursuing my game and console collection. And now finally blogging about it. Not only blogging about it, but how I feel about it. Maybe someday leading games to an even better future.

BOOYAKASHA

So, my name is Jamie. I am currently a jobless bum, living with my wonderful boyfriend. I will be twenty-ONE on May 31st. I usually spend my days on the couch with my cats. (I have no friends). In since I obviously lead a very interesting life, I decided to take some time out from my couch potato-ing and converse with humanity via interwebz.

Why Destructoid you ask?

I must admit my boyfriend convinced me to do it. Though I do share a great love for games (as I’m sure many people do), I didn’t really consider blogging about it until recently. After signing up on here I had realized opinions do not go unheard. All this time I had been exploding inside with all this opinionated information. Now I can finally not only get my thoughts out there in this vast community but also keep my own records of my brilliance.

Now that I know I have some of you by the jugular, you may be asking yourself. What are N3rdBitch’s hobby’s? What are her favorite games? What consoles does she own? Why is she so damn cool?

Here are the answers you’ve been yearning for.

I enjoy music TO THE MAX. I must start by listing my personal vocal inspirations. Such as Ella Fitzgerald, Joss Stone, Cyndi Lauper, The Lunachicks, and Janis Joplin. My musical tastes expand to the farthest galaxy. From Electronica, to Beethoven, to The Exploited, all the way back to some Ole’ Blue Eyes.
Music is my life.
I obviously enjoy gaming of various kinds as well. I also enjoy the occasional channel surf, and by occasional I mean I do it all the time. I frequently watch MythBusters, How it’s made, Cosmos, ATHF, Home Movies, Family Guy, Open Court in the mornings, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Dexter’s Lab, Fairly Odd Parents, and whatever else when I’m bored.
Science Channel FTW.
I defiantly love to cook, and I’m quite good at it. Ask DaedHead. =D I hope to someday peruse my culinary dreams and be the first Iron Chef of the world. Bwahaha! No, but seriously, I would love to attend culinary schools all over the world and master taste buds far and wide.

I own a variety of consoles, including a few handhelds. Such as SNES, N64, Game Cube, Playstation, Playstation2 (fat and slim), Xbox 360 (elite), Sega Game Gear, DS Lite, and the newest addition Wii (soon to be ps3).
