Killzone 2 Factfile

Killzone 2
I just knew this game would rock, I just knew It...Maybe am a Sony Fanboy after all, the “Infamous” trailer rocked” all right...Psi-ops meets Crackdown...Hellauva of fun!! , Aaahh...but everybody’s talking about a game called Killzone 2, the Halo killer...Now where have I heard that one before,

Cut back to the Golden age of the PS2, one fine morning IGN post a 2 page article about a game called Killzone, they also post a screen shot of a beautifully screenshot of a character holding onto a chaingun...My day had never been the same again, the word gaga came so naturally to me then...this battle machine called Master chief seemed to be a tough nut all right, Had Sony listened to the silent prayers’ of a 14 year old..

Yes sir-een Sony had, the company finally took notice about the severe drought of exclusive shooters on its tremendous console, and they unleashed “the Killzone” upon us, a game which started out as a tech Demo had been commissioned into a full fledged game by SCEE. I silently prayed that the game would not be another mediocre title like the Getaway. The hype machine was in full flow... the Ring of Light had finally dawned on The Playstation2’s sacred figure. Till the day it was released...My world tore apart...all my dreams were shattered.

Killzone was horribly buggy lame linear shoddy run of the mill First person shooter; it was hopeless attempt to create a world that would die a pitiful death. Sony though otherwise and announced that a sequel of the game would be heading on its next platform PS3, all this bit occurred sometime in early 2005.

Next gamers had to stand up against the might of the Chimera in Resistance Fall of Man...Another Halo killer...The game although provided quite an enjoyable experience did not quite live up to the tag. This game was the second deemed Killer to Microsoft’s Master.

E3-2005 Guerilla Games showed the entire audience that the Killzone that they had always wanted had finally arrived, Sony came pumping out on stage showcasing the killzone 2 trailer, and the entire crowd felt the sense of Chaos they had always imagined in a game, soon after E3 ended Sony’s sheen began to wither off when it was revealed that the entire trailer was computer generated. All the laurels that Sony had once gathered seemed to quickly fade away and there was darkness all around

The Pre-E3 2007 Buzz had been that Killzone 2 would actually be playable and would look Horrifyingly beautiful, Sony also leaked a screen shot to give a tinge onto what was about to hit them at the end of the conference, and the tinge sent the audience into a tizzy all right.

The game looked slick, played fast had F***ing, dastardly cool animation and shadows, and looked a good 95% similar to the E3 2005 trailer which had chopped Sony’s nose off, the best part was a developer actually played the entire demo which showed some real cool stuff from the entire game, the Destructible environments was real cool but failed to Impress me once I saw Crytek’s Crysis, the solid thing about the game was the animations the looked so fricking believable that you want your 99 year old grandma check would die if she ever witnessed the game in full HD motion.

The presentation was so darn good that I hated every second of me being not in Santa Monica at attending E3, I flopped on my bed thinking when I could Afford Sony’s Mean expensive machine.

I decided to check in with the experts, here’s the stuff to expect from the game when it hits shelves in’08 (I’d give it a ’09 release), so kids pick up that pen and paper and start doodling.

The developers called a violent theater of war.-Expect a groovy soundtrack to be in place with these words.

A.I. looked fairly intelligent-I always hear that one for any hyped up game.

One single level had taken up 2GB of data.-this game Isn’t coming out for the 360 for sure now (:P)

Weather plays an important role in the game- Apparently the Helghast have the power to control Lightening.

There won’t be any HUD at all, the screen starts to fade indicating low heath- This Mechanic was used in the Getaway and was damn frustrating and then it re-surfaced in Call Of Cthulhu was frustrating again, hope these guys have found to perfect the system.

The game delivers chaos in a battlefield like never seen before- I somehow have made myself not to believe such things because they generally are a method of building up hype.

Timeline- It's 2 years later and the ISA are invading the Helghast home planet of Helghan. The goal is to capture the Helghast leader and bring the war machine to a halt.

The realism in the game comes from the Hollywood special effects people and weapon experts from a variety of fields.

You'll rarely stay put in the game, the action makes on screen keeps you always on your toes.

Quite a number of weapons return for the previous game.

According to boards this game is the true successor to all First person shooters and is leaves its other grey brethren Gears of War far behind.

So the video says it all, the game looks to kill all right, GG have finally seemed to have woken up from their slumber and taken notice and finally managed to blow everything in their way. First Lets get some Facts straight this game is not going to kill Halo, its probably going to do as well as Halo, secondly the bit on the grayish palette kind of puzzles me ,the earlier game had a monochromatic palette because PS2 lacked the hardware to pull of something as gorgeous as Halo, so why stick to the same Monochromatic palette which makes the game looks a bit dull otherwise, the CG trailer still had more colors to it, not that it’s a bad thing it helps keeping the grittiness of war intact but it kind of gets sore on the eyes after a point of time, but I personally like it.

The gameplay may get a tad bit on the lame side after a point of time, but it is only one level that was shown, so the others are expected to surpass this by miles

This game is aimed at a more mature audience, unlike Halo whose fan base largely consists if 15 year olds and looks like a definitive title on everyone’s wish list for the coming year, and Halo speaks of a trilogy ending, whereas this game is the second in the series. This game still has a long long way to go. The demo was probably a pre alpha version, so expect it to look even better.

Hope the game lives up its hype this time around otherwise Sony’s going to have a tough fall all right, and all you X-bots out there wait for surprise showing of gears of war 2 which will make you salivate like all the sony bots out there.

I don't like Halo at all but Halo is FAR from the last time we will be seeing Halo. We got Halo Wars and Bungie & Microsoft are looking to make MORE Halo games. So that is the end of the series and possibly Master Chief for awhile.

And as hopeful as I am for Killzone 2, it will NOT do as good as Halo 3. No way, you are delusion if you think that. This game would have to be the best game ever to do as good. I only say that cause Halo 3 has so much hype behind it that it will sales millions the first day before it is said to be good or not.

And sure it won't come out on the 360 but isn't that cause it is a 2nd party title? 2nd party titles don't come out for other systems. But I could be wrong there...

And it is a grey pallete. The PS2 couldn't do Halo but it still could do colors. It is the setting of the game, a ruined eather. Ruined earths don't have VIBRANT colors.

And now I am just talking...I hope Killzone 2 is as good as the first one cause I loved it but I don't have a PS3 so it doesn't affect me too much. But let's calm down on the praises of a game that probably isn't halfway done yet. Ok, maybe it is more than half...
