Is this the Titchmarsh 'debate'? He's an old fuddy-duddy, a bit of a joke and non-entity for anyone under the age of fifty here in the UK (he used to do gardening programmes). You can tell by the audiences' reactions that it's not exactly a well-balanced debate. Don't imagine this represents the views of anyone other than a handful of old-aged grumps who resent kids of today for not living in misery like they did.

A agree with Tim Schafer.

Tim (on the show) was trying his fucking damnedest to make sense among the two other idiots (Actually, the guy on the right was not too bad.). He said everything correctly and it was nothing but complete ignorance from the woman and even the audience.

I have no problem with good dialogue on this topic.... but I have no time for lack of dialogue and broad sweeping statements made by the woman and the host that simply showed their ignorance.

This is what I hate about shows like this. They didn't bring Tim on the show to discuss with him or hear out his views they brought him there so they could ignore him and use him as a target for hate. It's ironic because all those people acted as if he was some sort of violent bastard who was trying to defend the electronic equivalent of crystal meth when he was the one making the most sense.

Also where the fuck did that women get her statistics from? Video games don't make people evil; people are evil by default or become so through more important issues than saving Princess Peach. The problem is that's too cruel to say to the world I mean what kind of sick place makes the people responsible for their actions rather than their gamertags?[/sarcasm]

It was a bunch of smug old farts taking comfort in the fact that the audience was on their side, ganging up on the one young person. It's too late for them. They're impossibly comfortable.

In another time these would be the people justifying hate crimes and oppression. They feel no pressure to think about what they're saying.
