No, it is not the RRoD, it is the Two Rings problem, Overheating.
The weirdest thing is when it happens: Only when I play Red Faction Guerrilla (it over heats in fewer than five minutes, guaranteed) and Darksiders (the time varies from ten minutes to two hours). The problem started after a five to six hour play session after I first got Darksiders.
Before my recent move, I tried making sure it had plenty of air, dusting it out, using new silicone on the CPU, the InterCooler external fans, sacrificing to the Volcano Gods (it was an overheating problem after all).
So, good doctors of Destructioid, any tips?
Yeah, you might want a few more sacrifices. I hope it works out and hey, at least it's not three?
If you're using anything other than an Intercooler TS, though, it might brick your system. The previous Intercoolers suck, as do most other designs out there. The TS is the only one I've found that is worthwhile, it does require external power though. The major thing with most fans is that they force air into the system, rather than sucking warm air out, which is why most of them don't do anything at all. The TS doesn't do this, it just clips on the back and acts as a secondary to extract air in conjunction with the system fans.
Try switching your 360's orientation, vertical tends to ventilate better, but you'll scratch your discs if you aren't careful. Try other copies of the game too, Darksiders itself is pretty glitchy on 360 (I experienced quite a few, including freezing). As Xzy pointed out, sometimes defective discs can cause abnormalities like this, in the same way a program can cause Windows to become unstable.
Also, make sure your power brick is well ventilated, too. Those SOB's get mighty hot sometimes, and they can overheat too, which I believe causes the system itself to display the 2 light overheat signal.
