About Me
I am a social, amative, and multifarious person. I will talk to anyone. The sine qua non at social gatherings. I don't mind saying what's on my mind at anytime. I am also considerate, kind, optimistic (but realistic), and hardworking. I'm honest, chivalrous, loyal, and honorable. I have high set standards for almost everything, and I don't take anything less than that. My sense of humor is a little wild, though...

Diablo II

Hello! I'm Nate Pribble, son! This is my first blog on Destructoid. I recently found out about this site and have been lurking for a few weeks and finally decided to join.

Diablo II is a game that has summoned me almost every year to grind and magic find until I lose all hope for life... which leads me to go out and get a girlfriend again. >_<

Never ending cycle.

Anyway, I realized this game has been out for 12 years now and I don't think they even need to release a third. There are so many people playing and so many businesses built from building characters to selling the most rare and unique items. Why would Blizzard take that away?

Well, I was just wondering, how many people still play? Do you own the game, but aren't playing? Why are you not playing right now?

... Why am I not?

:D

Welcome, your blog header is madness :)

You know I have only played Diablo as a small demo and thats it, even though I enjoyed the demo I just never bought the game. Go figure.

Anyways if Blizzard make a Diablo 3 (which they will) it would probably be like Starcraft 2, as in the graphics would be updated and the gameplay tweaked but the core of the game would be mostly unchanged. If it aint broke...

Im not playing because the game got boring. Not cos its a boring game, cos i played it a lot. Last year we did a play through (well... got to act 3, we're a lazy bunch) with a mod on though, we may do it again. Its still fun in small doses.

I will never stop going back to Diablo II. It seems like every 2 years, like clockwork, I roll a meanass pole barb.

Because Blizzard doesn't make money off of Diablo 2 through those "businesses"

Its in their interest to make a sequel to make billions of dollars rather than nothing.

I'm busy playing Hellgate: London, which is made by ex-Diablo devs.

I only ever played Diablo on my friends PC and by the time I got my own pc I was engrossed by the Medieval: total war game!

I still play, even though I only have two characters. I would totally like to start up a new one soon.

Every few months I reinstall that baby and level a tiny bit. It's just too fun to leave alone for long. Best played with friends, though.

It has always remained on my rig since the first day it was released 8 years ago. Every time I've created a new rig and/or formatted, it tends to be one of the first things I install after all the driver/software updating. I haven't played it in a while, but I feel that urge to collect loot and try to avoid doing Baal runs.

I wonder if we all shouldn't get together and play a few games?

There are a group of Dtoiders playing now. Shoot me a PM if you want in. (We just started, on Act 2 and only level 18, and we only play a few times a week.)

Blog header is aces.

I loved the original Diablo, Diablo II was an improvement, and Diablo III will blow us all away I'm sure.

I get in that cycle that "sfranks" mentioned too lol. Diablo 2 is a legendary game. I just hope diablo 3 will be just as fastpaced and gory as part 1&2. Somehow I think the transition to 3d might cause some problems concerning that..
I just hope it doesnt. IT NEEDS TO BE as fast nd gory, and I dont want f'in LAME RAGDOLL ANIMATIONS (TITAN QUEST, ARGH)!!
My worst nightmare however, is that blizzard makes it aN MMOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!! Its in developement though, cause theyre hiring ppl to work with the diablo 2 team (as stated on their site) and they recently claimed the diablo3.com domain (which was a fansite thats now called diablofans.com).

Diablo II is one of those games that I enjoyed playing but never quite understood the obsession people develop with it. It's essentially a grind game, not unlike an MMO, which may explain why I'm not into it. Fun while I was doing new stuff, but there's only so much character improvement for character improvement's sake that I'm willing to do.
