Frank Conniff, probably best known as TV's Frank from Mystery Science Theatre 3000, recently posted a short video showing the true victims of the WGA strike: The studio executives. Those poor, poor, multimillionaires. Speaking of MST3K, it seems lately there's been a flood of nostalgia for the series from it's former creative staff. Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy have been keeping the funny alive with their Rifftrax mp3 film commentaries and more recently direct to DVD features as The Film Crew. Jim Mallon and Paul Chaplin just launched MST3K.com, which features an online store, a weekly flash cartoon featuring Crow, Tom Servo, and Gypsy, and video clips from the show. And Joel Hodgson recently announced his own new riffing project Cinematic Titanic, also featuring the talents of MST3K alumni Trace Beaulieu, Josh Weinstein, Mary Jo Pehl, and Frank Conniff. You can read an interview with Joel about it on Starwars.com; their first feature should go on sale around December 10th. It makes you wonder, when will these groups join forces and combine their powers? Why not get everyone together on a single project! Maybe a TV show about a pair of mad scientists who launch a guy into space and force him to watch bad movies, with only a pair of wise-cracking robots as his company. But what to call it? P.S. - Licensed Games That Don't Entirely Suck #4 is still coming, I haven't abandoned it. Been extremely busy lately working on other things, and kinda burned out. It's about 70% done right now, but haven't had a chance to sit down with it for a while. I'll try to finish it up before all my time is devoted to UR MR GAY.

Rifftrax: Not spectacular, but good.
The Film Crew: Pretty damn good.
MST3K.com Animated Shorts: Shit. Don't bother.
Cinematic Titanic: Hopefully, win.
For real, though, the MST3K.com shorts are crap. Jim Mallon (MST's producer, current rights holder, and general jackass) looks to be just trying to make a buck off of the success of Mike Nelson's projects. The cartoons are not funny.

@ WiiSucks: I could be you from the future. THINK ABOUT THAT!
I got an email about this I think, and I couldn't have been more happy. I grew up watching this stuff on Sci-Fi. as a kid, and don't forget about the commentary you can download for Star Wars Ep. 1, it's hilarious.
Glad you like the blog. If the font doesn't give it away, Destructoid is a big inspiration. :) I'm pretty neglectful of it these days though, because I suck.
