This week's game was supposed to be the awesome Unreal Tournament 3, however one hell of a fuck up happened, let me explain:
After playing till three in the morning last night, it was safe to say I was very tired and could not think for shit, realised by me when I lost very,very badly in stage one on Pixel Junk: Monsters. When I went to turn off my PS3, I commited a cardinal sin that NO PS3 owner should ever commit: I foolishly pulled out the plug before putting the PS3 on standby, and immediately realised the grave error I commited.
Now for those who do not know, by doing what I did, the chance of wiping out all the data on my hard drive was significantly high, it mentions in the manual (repeatdely) that you should never pull the PS3 plug out of the socket when the console is running. Imagine losing all your game saves of your beloved games, (that you have spent tens of hours of your life on), and thanks to your own stupidity, you now have to start all over again............horrifying, is'nt it?
Needless to say I was a sad panda at that point
I turned on my PS3 back on with a heavy heart, fearing the worst. However, everything seemed fine when I frantically searched all my files and folders.......
Game saves? Check
Ps3 Themes?(over 200, I'm a theme whore, and proud of it) Check
Game data? Check
Music/Photos and videos? Check
Everything seemed to be running fine and accouted for, at first.
Earlier today I popped in UT3 in my PS3 for a quick blast, that's when things started to go wrong. I shit you not when I say I experienced THE most crazy-ass glitches, slowdown and jaw dropping texure warping I've ever seen on the game. To top things off, the game also made my PS3 freeze, over and over again. I would post pictures of the mighty glitches, but I'm scared of loading up the game again. Expect next week to feature a LOT of phenomenal pics of the glitches, some levels do not cause the PS3 to freeze!!
So without further ado, a copypasta of last week's FNF post:
Like last week ladies and gentlemen, the game for this week will be again Call of Duty 4:
However, unlike last week, we will start with a slew of private matches instead of duking it out with strangers online. Expect matches to vary from the traditional Deathmatch, to the very,
very challenging Sabotage. Also, if there is demand, headshot only will be present on a few matches, which ones? Well you can decide that.
Again, if I have not already added you as a friend on PSN, then please leave your ID below.
The start time is 10:30pm GMT, and about 5:30pm EST time
Ciao, for now.
p.s. Though the start time is listed at 10:30pm, I WILL be online much earlier, trying to get my rank up, so if anyone wants to team up, just message me over PSN
You didn't get Soul C.
Pixel Junk Monsters makes you do bad things...
That's really weird though how UT3 is all fucked up when all your saves and stuff seems to be fine. Maybe all you have to do is reinstall the game and maybe mutators/characters/levels.
Still I hope your triple gets well soon
@Jack, I played the game, and loved it, but not enough to splash out 40-50 pounds for it. I never payed full price for a fighter. I would've never used the online mode, I only play beat 'em ups with nearby friends and family,so it would not be worth the investment.
I'll get it when it's like 15 pounds or something, that is going to be a while, I know, but I'm in no rush to own it, seeing as I still play SC2 a LOT!! and my mate has SC4, so I play it at his house.
Ok bro
@Anus, I'll do that mate, but the problem is that it was in the Ps3 when the situation happened, so I think that messed up the disk, not to worry though, I know a guy who works a local gamestation, and I'll get another copy real cheap, expect it to feature next week!!!!
@Mushman:
I don't think cutting the power can damage the disk itself unless you were dancing with your PS3 again and you accidentally stood on the power cable. So hopefully it's just a case of corrupt data on the hard drive.
Shame I'll have to wait another week to get my arse blown off
@ANUS
Hopefully you are right, I fucked up no less than five games with the same situation happening on my PS2, big fat scratches and all. But I hope the PS3 is immune to that problem,the disc does not seem to have huge scratches. I'll test it on a mate's ps3.
I'll re-install ALL the custom data tomorrow, and I'll pm you on what the outcome is.
i was also too poor for SC4 this week
but on COd4 can we have a few private free for alls before team deathmatches and what-not?
I was not too poor for SC4 this week so I'll be on the character creator all night (which alone is worth the £40) finishing up my mighty Naruto army.
@Wilbo
If there is more people, yes why not, but as it stands, it seems we'll have to play team based games at first. I hate playing one on one, not because of the competition, but the fact you spend half the time looking for the other guy, it kills the rush that COD4 brings, I need ma drugs man!!!
Wow, I didn't realise consoles were so temperamental. I've had he power go out on me when I've had my PC on dozens of times, a few with my 360 as well and the only side effect has been the irritation of losing a bit of progress/work since I last saved.
Must be lucky I guess!
As Anus mentioned, assuming you have to install UT3 on the PS3 it sounds like corrupted data. A simple uninstall/reinstall should sort it.
WHAT?! Europe is poor all of a sudden. Well let me combo-break this blog. I bought SCIV.
Catch you guys in a bit.
I NEED HELP: Somthing like these happened to me, i was playing when i mistakenly pulled out the plug out of the socket, and now it wont turn on, just a red light flashes. PLEASE WHAT DO I DO?
